When I am feeling SEO I scan through a similar checklist to make sure I have all bases covered. Just this afternoon I recall doubling down on headers. Sometimes I get lazy, but focusing on both the SEO benefits of ample header usage plus improved formatting and user experience, definite no brainer using H2 and H3 tags to kill 2 birds with one stone.

    Hi Tom,

What an incredible interesting blog post. In fact, I just read and shared a similar article of the same magnitude on Lisa Sicard’s blog. So as i read your post, I like remind myself of what I read on Lisa’s space.

SEO is crucial to your search rankings and implementing it correctly will more than increase your chances on SERP.

The steps are great, however i also use Yoast to improve my strategy. Yoast SEO will highlight ares you need to work on for maximum optimization.

I have discovered that many bloggers play down on H – tags. You’ll see a H1- title, but the being the subtitle that goes with a h2 with instead have a h4 or h5. This isn’t good for your SEO campaign.

    Thanks for sharing.

    • Janice Wald

      Hi Moss,
I reviewed an SEO audit tool that echoed exactly what you wrote about heading tags. I’m shocked to read bloggers play them down when they’re so important.

  11. Moss Clement

    Hi Tom & Janice,

I almost forgot. H2 is a subheading for a new section of your article. H3 is also a subheading but falls understand a H2.

    But Tom said the following:

“H3 tags play the best role while serving as subheaders to link the group to the source which is the most appropriate.”

I’m not sure if I understood what he is saying. Can somebody help explain this?
