  1. Veena

Hi, I work in a school too but as a counselor! Nice to meet you 🙂 Looking forward to your future posts!

    • Janice Wald

      Hi Veena,
Thank you for following me. Although my main theme will be news, I plan on blogging about a variety of topics. I hope you enjoy reading them. I work at a middle school; we have grades six through eight. How about you?

      • Veena

That’s interesting! I would love to read your future posts. I am technically with the MS too but end up working across departments. I love working in my school because unlike others, the counselor’s role is a very active one and I get to do a lot more than usual.

    • Janice Wald

Thank you so much for subscribing and for checking it out. I think of all my posts I’m the most proud of the one I titled “Heaven Can Wait.” If you read it, let me know what you think by commenting on the blog. Thanks.

  2. lancequadras

    Hi Janice.
Wow, you indeed have too much in your plate.
How do you handle all these responsibilities?

    • Janice Wald

      Hi Lance,
It is true. I am so much busier than I was before. However, I find I am loving the blogging and the connections I’ve made from it. I guess people find time for what they love. How do you handle it? I see you have a blog. If you’d be interested in a “Follow for Follow,” let me know. Thanks for writing. I am so sorry I didn’t respond sooner. It was rude of me and not my norm.

      • Janice Wald

By the way, last Friday when you wrote commenting on how busy I am, I meant to tell you I’m also my school’s Yearbook teacher!

  3. http://russ-meares.blogspot.com/

Hi Janice, my name is Russ. My Blog is primarily poetry driven; I also try funny stories, etc. But I also follow the news pretty regularly and am certainly interested in any topic related to Ancient or Medieval History.

    • Janice Wald

Then, by all means, please follow my blog. We sound like a match! I regularly blog about news and frequently connect to ancient and medieval history. I will be happy to follow you back. Janice

    • Janice Wald

I’m so glad Tammy. I wanted you to be proud of me since you were my inspiration. I wanted you to like my blog. Thank you.

  4. badfish2

Hey, your blog is awesome. No need to feel down. And I like the theme…is it free? I like the crinkled paper effect, especially. Maybe you can save the world…of someone.

    • Janice Wald

Thanks for your support. My stats were saved by our class rallying for me! What a community! We are lucky to have that.
Yes, the theme is free. I teach history, so I thought it looked like ancient Egypt with the camel in the desert. I may not be able to save everyone, but I can try and save someone….Who said that? Anne Frank? Helen Keller? Someone did. Thanks for the support once again.

    • Janice Wald

Thank you so much for the kind words and the nomination. I can’t tell you how touched I am! I put it in my About page that I was nominated.
Thank you as well for following my blog. Welcome!

  5. Reji Stephenson

It is really interesting for me to see this blog. Have a wonderful blogging journey ahead. I know it is hard when you have children to look after and a day job plus so many other things in life. But I believe if you have an interest in something, we will definitely try to get time for it. Hoping to read updates from you.

    • Janice Wald

I received an update today that you are now following my blog. Thank you and welcome! I was excited since I knew you’d expressed interest in my blogging articles.

  6. Mark Marfori

I really enjoy reading your blog . Please keep posting! I learn something new every time I check in.

  7. curtisbausse

Thanks for dropping by my blog – glad you liked that piece about awards. I’m still trying to figure out a balance between time demands, etiquette, authentic connections etc. Will be checking out your blog for advice!

    • Janice Wald

Thank you so much. I’d love your follow. I guess that’s tacky to say, but I’m hoping to get advertisers one day my mi idle daughter’s talking med school

      Hey Jen!

I guess, during the bogging U we came across many a times, but, hardly, kept the track of each other’s blog; but fortunately, today, somehow, I stumbled upon your blog and all the previous wonderful memory associated with you came back in my mind.
Still, I haven’t gone through your blog, but, I really appreciate your objective for creating this blog; though, it is not my major objective of creation of blog; but, occasionally, I try to touch the issue from my point of view, and in this regard, I have written few posts, whenever you have spare time, please visit the below link, who knows, we can become, best blogging buddy

    Wishing you all the best……………………

    • Janice Wald

What nice comments you wrote to brighten my Sunday! I am taking Blogging U’s March class on photography. I could use improving my photo skills for my blog pictures and I would love the opportunity to network again like you and I did. Are you signed up for it?
Thank you again for the kind words about my blog and our experiences in the class today. That’s what they wanted when it ended, for us to be “blogging buddies”. Thanks for writing today and showing me we are.

      • swajithkas

Glad to hear about you; No, I am not taking any more classes as off now, but, in future, if possible I will enroll for few more courses. Please stay in contact; you are wonderful person.

        Wishing you all the best…………

        • Janice Wald

Thanks again for writing. You don’t be a stranger either. How is your blogging going? Did you know I blog blogging advice to bloggers? LOL What do you blog about? Do you have a theme? A niche?

  11. swajithkas

I think you are the proper person to judge how my blog is going on; do I have niche; which theme am I using?????????
Because, you have vast experience, so, from your experience, you are in a better position to provide me your valuable feedback………..
    Wishing you all the best………………..

      • Janice Wald

Hi, Okay I’m back. I went to your site.
        1. Yes, you definitely have a theme. It’s in your header. Your theme is idioms and inspirational quotes.
        2. However, I only saw one or two posts, but they weren’t about that theme. Are these exceptions?
I did it on Sunday. I wrote about the Academy Awards although my theme is giving blogging advice to bloggers. It was an exception. You don’t want to confuse your readers.
I would love to help anytime. Feel free to check out my posts or follow my blog. I have almost 100 articles at Reflections with blogging advice. Feel free to write with questions anytime.
PS I agreed with all you wrote about other bloggers. Don’t worry about your “harsh” tone. You use your own voice. You’ll find an audience.

      • swajithkas

Thanks a lot for your visit and wonderful comment; from today; I started to follow your blog; so, I cannot not miss one single, well-written post from you….
        Wishing you all the best……………….

Hey Janice, I’m replying to your question on Daily Post. The “I am ready to succeed at blogging!” color clashes a little bit with the background, but not enough to be distracting.

  26. Laura Gabrielle Feasey

I think you’ve set out what you’re doing well, with a nice balance of who you are personally, and what you’re trying to achieve. You mentioned on my blog about the colours, I think they’re great, pastel shades are chic, I don’t know who told you they weren’t good but I don’t agree, your background, title and title image all tie in perfectly 🙂

    • Janice Wald

      Thanks Laura,
Nice to meet you. I didn’t have as much time Monday to network as much as I would have liked, so I appreciate you writing.

I’m really excited to have found your blog. I sense that I will learn very practical ideas from you. I’m also reading pro blogger and while it’s good, I find the content too slow. I’ve been copywriting and in graphic design for a while. What I’m really interested in is SEO- it’s Greek to me especially when Google changed up everything. Link or not to link? Has pyramid linking gone out the window? What other new tools are out there right now. As I’m going through a transition (move) cross-country I reluctantly had to pare down my blog goals. But I’m posting 2 articles/week and reblogging 2guest blogs a week. I hope to resume a more ambitious schedule after my move is complete. I’m loving it. I really do. I almost feel obsessed (writing was always my first creative love) And at the very least how wonderful would it be to have some extra income to put toward my other goals? 🙂 Can’t wait to learn, Teacher.

    • Janice Wald

What wonderful words greeted me when I read your comments. I agree with what you’ve written. I, too, feel obsessed at times. For that reason alone, I’ve had to scale back and now reblog on Thursdays instead of publishing original material. Extra income? Awesome, but I sense that’s still down the road a bit for me.
Thanks again for the wonderful compliments.

    • Janice Wald

Tomorrow go to my Linky party. By Thursday, there will be 300 bloggers there for you to network with. Try to find people who blog about your topic. Click their link, and get to know them. If you are one of the first, they will be more likely to click your link. The link goes live at 6:00 am California time, so don’t click it before then. It should go to your Email inbox, but here it is anyway.

  31. thefabletters

Awesome topic for your blog! Followed, and excited to read some tips from you 🙂

  32. giasuniverse

You have a great blog here, Janice, I will sure be exploring it! When I started blogging, I had no idea how it worked, there is advice out there, but a lot of it was not relevant to my type of blog. I am using it to write my book, and post chapter by chapter.
I found that connecting with others-commenting on their blogs, and sharing on social media helps people to find my blog. Right now I am at a stage when it is almost finished, and I am starting to think what next? (And panic slightly :-p) I will probably organize it better, and start a new book. I know, you are probably very busy, but if you had any tips or advice for me, it would be much appreciated! Thank you Gia x

    • Janice Wald

I actually do have advice since you asked. My advice is more toward the blogging end of things. Although, of course, many of my tips apply to all writers. However, a woman named Sally has a blog devoted to writers of literature, and she tends to take writers under her wing giving them exposure. Here is the link to her blog https://smorgasbordinvitation.wordpress.com/. I’d check her out; she will have a lot of tips for your genre.
It has been fun getting to know you today. I’d love to talk Poe with you anytime.

You should contact Jason Cushman at aopinionatedman.com. The same thing happened to him. He will know what you should do. Please respond, so I know you got my reply. Thanks. Again, I’m sorry for the delay. Please reply

      • AsilandtheKeyboard

It’s okay. Sorry to bug you too on your vacation.
Thank you for the tip, Janice. You are a lifesaver! 😀

        • Janice Wald

You are not a bother at all. I am sorry you are having stress. Please tell me what he says, so I will know if it happens to others. Feel free to use my name when you contact him.

          • AsilandtheKeyboard

            I will. 😀
Thank you so much for the help. 😀

    • Janice Wald

      Hi Todd,
I am so very flattered that I just don’t have words to express my gratitude. I clicked the link, thanked you, and commented on your post. I did answer your ten questions. The only one that stumped me was the quote. I am sure I could have done better, but that’s the one that leaped into my head for some reason. I’ll keep you in suspense until you get to your post to see how I answered.
Sorry I haven’t posted in a while. I’m finishing up a month-long vacation. Thank you again so much for this honor. I had fun answering your questions. Take care,

I am grateful to both you and Alexa for your support.
