Link Exchange

How can you boost your SEO and find like-minded bloggers?

Join the Mostly Blogging Link Exchange.

Link Exchange SEOApparently, link building as a method to improve SEO rankings is alive and well.

However, not all bloggers know where to find bloggers with similar content to swap links with.  That is the purpose of this Link Exchange.

If a blogger gives you a link to your site, embed a link from one of their posts into your site.

Go to their blog, and find an article that logically connects to one that you are writing, and embed their link into your post.

For the sake of your credibility with your readers, choose a blog from a category that matches your own, and find a post with content that will supplement yours.

If you are concerned that linking to the other blogger could potentially hurt your SEO ranking, you can compare both blogs at  The lower the rank, the better.

Everybody wins!  You and the like-minded blogger get links into your site, and both your readers get stronger content.

For newer bloggers, the instructions for inserting links can be found by clicking The Complete Guide to Hyperlinks.

Warnings: Google gives penalties for picking links for the sole purpose of boosting your SEO ranking and not for the purpose of genuinely trying to help your readers.

I would appreciate having my blog linked as well. I blog book reviews and other literary musings, and just started getting into some book blitzes and other promotions.

Right now I’m working on getting all of my full reviews up on my blog. After I finish with that I will have time to write about reading and not just put up book reviews.

    Many thanks in advance.

    Hi Janice,

I am collaborating with a young woman in the UK who is trying to establish a brand new mental health blog called Letters to the mind. It’s more of a community blog because rather that doing the writing we are hoping other creatives who suffer from a mental illness or have a family member/loved one with a mental illness will write to the illness and post it on the site for two purposes. The first is as a way to grow and challenge how we relate to our illness and the second is to educate other people about the various mental illnesses that people live with every single day. With education comes understanding and with understanding stigma begins to fall ill and eventually dies.

We ALWAYS need contributors, any disorder. No one is turned away and their own blogs are cataloged and linked.

I was thinking certainly the Health category, but also the personal growth and development. Please check it out. Thank you.

    • Janice Wald | at 12:38 am

      Hi Renae,
I agree with you. I am trying to form my blog into a sort of a hub for people to connect many times each week. For example, I have 2 linky parties a week, and I host 2 Meet and Greets a month. At the Meet and Greets, you could introduce yourself as a teacher and meet others that way. At the link exchange? We don’t have an education niche. We do have a science niche. They only have each other to swap links with. One of them is a doctor, not a teacher. I will put you there when I work on the blog later today. This Saturday, come to the Meet and Greet and leave your link and introduce yourself as a teacher. You’ll see who you meet. By the way, great to hear from you. I was concerned you’d stopped blogging.

      • K. Renae P. | at 11:39 am

Thanks, I’ll stop by for the meet and greet.

Life got crazy for a while and had to back off from blogging. I’ve only been back at it since December. I was fortunate that my 5 month blog drought didn’t have a negative effect on my traffic. It did slaughter my engagement though. It’ll take me a while to get that back on track.

I’m digging your new space in the blogosphere. You still come up in my WP Reader so that’s some good news. Keep rocking it!

          Hi Prince,
Thank you for your patience. I am currently cruising on an extended vacation.
Unfortunately, due to my commitments to my job and my family, I can’t give free blog critiques any more, so I charge for that now. I brought you a link if you’d like to see my price structure: As a subscriber, you would, of course, be eligible for a VIP Discount.
I added your URL under the Technology niche.

      Hi Kenneth,
I am sorry about my delay in responding. I am on a cruise ship where the Internet keeps going down.
I remember you. Nice to see you again. Thank you so very much for your kind words about my blog.
I added your blog to two categories– blogging due to your SEO posts and Lifestyle. Thank you for your interest in my Link Exchange.

        Hi Janice!

No worries at all. I completely understand! I am very impressed that you remember me, as I’m sure you “meet” a lot of folks through your blog and stay pretty busy! You are very welcome. Your blog helped me a great deal when I was first starting out.

Thank you for adding my blog link to each category as well. I would love to guest post about Blogging SEO or even general SEO sometime. What would be the next steps for making that happen?

Hello again Janice – was just thinking, my arty blog mentioned in my previous comment could go very well into personal growth and development. It’s about encouraging people to explore their creativity and overcome the belief that they are not creative or have to be ‘good’ at art to produce great work. This is the about page if you want to check that it fits the category I understand if it will have to wait until you get back to work.

Hope your cruise is going well – your commitment to the blogging world while on vacation is inspiring me to not give mine up but to push on and MAKE time!

      Hi Crystal,
      Great to hear from you.
You sold your blog? How beyond thrilling is that! Congratulations! I always wonder how much people pay for blog sites.
I hope you sold it for a pretty penny so you could retire and relax on the beach sipping a cool drink or whatever people do in that situation.
At any rate, I added your blog to the Parenting niche. Thank you for your interest.

I generally add people to the Link Exchange and other Mostly Blogging subcommunities on the weekends. Feel free to go in and start networking. You don’t have to wait for me to add you. Tell people you met them on the MostlyBlogging Link Exchange. I would start bottom up for recency.
As far as the Pinterest board, social media sites are blocked at my school. I have plans with my daughter who is in from college this evening, but I will send you the invitation as soon as I can. Once again, welcome.
