#Bloggers network and expand their readershp at the blog party

Welcome to Our Labor Day Blog Party!

Happy Labor Day to those of you in the United States! Labor Day traditionally is accompanied by a break from work. Let’s take a break and party!

In the comments section, you are encouraged to self-promote.

Introduce your blog to the other guests at the party. Tell the readers about your blog, and post a link to your favorite post, a recent post, your About page, your blog link, or anything you like.

If you are not already following Mostly Blogging, I like new subscribers too.

At today’s blog party, we are having cake. Enjoy the cake and the networking.

Note: At other Meet and Greets, guests are encouraged to return and leave different links to articles in different comment boxes. You are welcome to return as often as you like and leave links.

I am hoping others will be able to find new blogs to read and new bloggers to connect with.

Guests, if you think others would enjoy the networking opportunities at our Labor Day Meet and Greet, please share on your social media and blogs.  The more guests at the party, the more networking opportunities for all of us.

Shared you post on Google + and twitter, I did not know that much about culverts and never gave them much thought. Thanks for the wake up call.

    • Janice Wald

      Hi Matt!
Great to see you at my weekend blog party. Thanks again for all your support on Twitter. I appreciate you sharing my articles. Thanks for coming to my party.

  2. Gary Jefferies

Happy Labor (labour??) day and thanks for the e-mail letting me know about this meet and greet party!

Last we spoke you were just back off the cruise which seems an aweful long time ago now. Time waits for no man, or woman, so they say. Never quite worked out who ‘they’ are though yet. Although, on a different topic ‘they’ could be considered the sub-species known as politician. In fact there was a film called They Live in which a certain type of sunglasses showed the world being controlled by subliminal messages. In that the social elite were, in fact, skull faced aliens controlling the population by said self same messages. Maybe it wasn’t a cult film after all…a documentary maybe ?

I guess this is where I say my blog is an eclectic mix of writing…being a writer and all that. Always looking for new and interesting blogs of any sort to link up with. Anyone is free to drop in, comment, like, follow as long as they don’t mind me reciprocating!

    • Olivia Morris

That was a great read, the hairs on the back of my nick are standing at attention. Following you, I need to find out more and read more.

      • Gary Jefferies

Thanks Olivia, I think we have now connected. A new one went up yesterday from the same series and back links to the previous tales are embedded in that post. I think Dead Men of Dunharrow was part seven. Mind you, I’m told most can stand alone so it’s not necessary to actually read them all.

    • Melinda Mitchell

Hey Gary, sound more like a documentary to me! 😉
Or, am I just more cynical now??
Good to see you out, and about!
Race ya to the cake table!
      Melinda

      • Gary Jefferies

Yes, I have reviewed my opinion and noticed those who no longer watch news or read ‘papers’ seem far less glassy eyed. I suspect they have healthier auras too. Might have to locate some of those sunglasses…I am deeply suspicious of the engines that run things now.

I think I’ve been out of the zone for a few weeks and it’s good to catch up. Thank Janice for that as she emailed me saying, more or less, ‘Where the heck have you been?.’

Politer than that, but one reads between the lines ?

Or…one of her clones….it could have been one of them as per our discussion ?

    • Janice Wald

      Hi Gary,
Thank you for telling me about The Live. I will put it in my Netlix queue.
Great to be in touch again. It’s been too long. Are you blogging? I subscribe, but I don’t get notifications.
How is your book coming? Been busy with that? I’m still not sure where beta readers send the review. Do you know?
Thanks for coming to my blog party over the weekend. Nice to have you back again.
      Janice

      • Gary Jefferies

        Hi Janice,

It has been too long!! I replied to your email re the book reviews…did you not receive it? My world is shuffling forwards at a snails pace at the moment. I have been blogging a serialisation of paranormal short stories. Bit concerned you’ve not seen notifications though…or my email it seems!

I’m trying to organise my notifications…it be not going well !! In fact my absence from here is because I’m not seeing the emails either!

Reviews…if the books up for pre-order you can use Amazon itself or GoodReads for reviews. I put more info in the email…however my clear out might have deleted it at this end now!!

        • Janice Wald

Hi Gary I never got your email. I appreciate your trying to help me. Is it possible you can find it in your sent folder and resend it to me?
          Janice

          • Gary Jefferies

Really?? That’s a tad frustrating to hear as I’ve cleaned out my folders recently. Do you still have the original one you sent knocking about? I can try again then. Also turned notifications back on too so at least I should be able to see your updates, although some were still coming through.

I don’t seem to be getting them for replies here however…this is most curious… Now I have no idea if you replied to comments I made ages ago and then thought I was ignoring you ?

Nothing’s hitting your spam filter is it?

  3. Olivia Morrsi

Happy Labour Day Everyone. I’m Olivia from http://www.pizzazzplusfashion.com. I have struggled with weight issues all my life and refuse to give into the hype that “skinny” is healthy. I also refuse to believe that you can only look good if you are a size 12 or less. To that end I started my website for all of us who own a few more curves than most. Making all women feel and look good is my mission, size is only a number and just like age is just a number, we need to learn to celebrate everything that makes us who we are! http://pizzazzplusfashion.com/pizzazz-plus-fashion-home/attractive-amazing-halloween-costumes-a-treat-for-all/

    • Lee MacArthur

Very well done. I had a friend years ago who described herself as voluptuous because curvy was not used used at that point. She had a blast shopping for trendy clothing, strutting her stuff, and just showing the world she has spark. Did you ever see the stage play “Real Women Have Curves?” It was awesome. Yes they made it into a movie but the movie was no where as good as the play and didn’t really follow the story right.

    • Janice Wald

      Hi Olivia,
The support you give Plus-Size women is wonderful. Skinny is not healthy!
Thank you for coming to my blog party over the weekend.
      Janice

    • Janice Wald

      Hi Marina,
You have a question mark after Happy Labor Day. In the United States we have a work stoppage once a year, freedom from Labor– Labor Day. Do you have a comparable holiday in Greece? Thanks for coming to my party and telling us about Sofia.
      Janice

  4. Linda Morris (

Hi I’m Linda from Country Loving Mom. http://www.countrylovingmom.com Where I discuss Large Family Living on a Budget. 5. Patrice M Foster

Whose grilling this Labor Day I will be right over…. I’m Patrice from http://patricemfoster.com. Talk about topics such as depression in teens that not enough is being said about the mental health of our teens. Parents and teachers need to become more aware

My own struggle with darkness led my to write A Memoir, The Journey Home a story about survival. http://patricemfoster.com/book-store/

Expert: “In such an inner city school there was no real interaction between teachers and the students. No one ever questioned or suspected our situation, and when report cards were sent to us, either I signed them or asked someone else to sign. We had become as anonymous here in America ”

    Thank you for inviting everyone!

    • Lee MacArthur

I teach and have many students who face sexual and physical abuse at home, whose parents might be alcoholic, who is being bounced from relative to relative depending on who is spending time in jail. At the beginning of every school year, we receive training in these topics and more. Our councilor has all the hot line numbers for the state. You are right about students who come with certain problems. We do our best but we can’t get to everyone of them. Thank you for alerting the public to these issues.

    • Janice Wald

      Hi Patrice,
Do you want to hear something funny? I was thinking about you on Saturday, and then I saw you came to my blog party! Quite the coincidence!
In response to what you wrote, are you aware that I am a teacher? I am so glad you and Helen made a connection at the party. Great to see you again.
      Thank you for coming.

  7. Dottie Dynamo

    Hi Guys! Happy Long Weekend!

I run a bit of a niche blog, it’s health & fitness geared with lifestyle and recipe posts as well. It focuses on women in the burlesque, pole-dancing and night life scene. Though I get told it’s a great way to get insight into the lifestyle if that’s not what you do!

I feature a different insipiring Fit Showgirli ever month. I hope you’ll check out my latest post Spotlighting Sunny Serrano and former ballet dancer turned stripper and pole dancer.

    http://www.fitshowgirl.com/sunny-serrano-spotlight-september/

I always welcome comments or questions on posts. Cheers!

  8. Joseph

    Hi,

My name is Joseph. I’m the publisher of the family-friendly health and wellness news website Living Fit, Healthy and Happy(SM).

Many of you may know that our country is presently facing an epidemic of childhood and adult obesity and with it the dangers of cardiovascular disease, onset diabetes and other serious and potentially life-threatening ailments. Unless something is done to reverse the trend, obesity may become the norm by the year 2030.

Therefore, to help promote awareness about this troubling problem, I’m posting a link to an article that takes a close look at this issue and explores what we as a nation can do to help curtail adolescent obesity.

Social Pressures Push American Teens Toward Obesity

    http://www.livingfithealthyandhappy.com/2012/09/social-pressures-push-american-teens-toward-obesity.html

I’m also going to discuss another topic of great importance. Ovarian cancer afflicts thousands of Americans each year, but what can be done about it? Thus, in honor of Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month, I’m providing a link to an article that discusses the causes and nature of that disease.

Ovarian Cancer Is A Leading Cause Of Death Among Women In The United States

    http://www.livingfithealthyandhappy.com/2011/09/ovarian-cancer-is-a-leading-cause-of-death-among-women-in-the-united-states.html

These are science based articles that I wrote to help educate and inform. I invite you all to read these articles and share them with others.

    Thank you.

    • Dottie Dynamo

These posts look great! Bookmarked them so I can read when I’m at my computer! I expect I’ll be sharing the one about ovarian cancer

      • Joseph

Thanks, Dottie; hopefully your friends will find the information as useful as you do. I’ve also visited your website, your articles are very well written. I’m especially impressed with your commitment to physical fitness. 🙂 Keep it up!

    • Janice Wald

      Hi Joseph,
Interesting that you brought your post about Ovarian Cancer. Gene Wilder died this week; his wife Gilda Radner died of Ovarian Cancer.
Thanks for making sure people continue to be aware of it.
I saw you and Dottie made a connection. I am so glad.
      Janice

  9. Lee MacArthur

Hello everyone. As you know, I live and work in the bush of Alaska. the only way in and out of where I live is by air or possibly boat but that depends on where you go. I write about anything and everything in my blog http://myideaofparadiseetc.blogspot.com/2016/09/the-10-most-expensive-types-of-salt.html where I talk about the most expensive types or varieties of salt. While researching it, I learned all sorts of things about the topic. Hope you get a chance to check it out.

      Janice

  14. Jade Miller

Thank you for hosting this. I’m Jade from Thoughts From J8 and my blog is a very small niche. I rarely share it on link up posts on FB because I don’t want “likes” just for the sake of numbers. I want people who are genuinely interested in the topics. And I don’t want to do the same for others – “like” just to inflate their numbers but then never interact again.

Anyway, having said all that, I write about some very difficult topics – surviving and recovering from ritual abuse, attachment disorders, trauma, and living with Dissociative Identity Disorder. Usually my posts are more informative, and the archives will have a lot of that. The most recent post was just an update on what’s going on with me personally. I don’t use my blog as a diary because I highly doubt people would be interested in the play-by-play. But when I’m going through something either unusual (for me), or something I think my readers might benefit from knowing about, I do write about it sometimes. Either to just tell them “you’re not alone if you feel this way” or “here’s what’s going on, this is why I haven’t written recently, here’s something you might be able to take away from knowing my struggle.”

If it’s not your cup of tea that’s totally okay. But if you do know someone who might want or need info on this stuff, please share. 🙂

  21. Barbara Radisavljevic

Thanks for inviting me to the party. I currently have seven active blogs, some more active than others. Two are about California, my home state. Another focuses on children’s books and education, and one reviews books for adults. One is about gardening, and one is about writing and news about content writing sites as they come and go. The newest is about solving the problems of aging, but it’s very new with only one post so far.

The one I’m most trying to promote is A California Life. The latest post there was just to try to claim the blog for Bloglovin’ — so far unsuccessful, so it’s not worth reading. You might want to start with this post to get a feel for the normal posts: http://acalifornialife.com/2016/07/07/garland-regional-ranch-park-carmel-valley/ I have also written about Mission San Miguel, the California fires, and our turkey vultures, among other topics. This blog examines places I’ve visited in California and also what it’s like to live in California.

    • Janice Wald

      Hi Barbara,
Did you know that I live in California? Do you still? Where?
Thank you for following me on BlogLovin. I never go there, but if and when I do I will follow you back. Seven blogs! I don’t have enough time for one! My hat is off to you! Boy do you have my respect! Thanks for coming to my blog party.
      Janice

    • Janice Wald
