Blog Party: Meet and Greet 20

Meet new #bloggers at the Meet and Greet

Welcome to our 20th Blog Party!

Since I am still on a cruise ship, I could not create original content for you today. So, let’s party!

I was also unable to go shopping for food for the party. Therefore, today’s party is potluck.

Your contribution to the menu is in the blue basket. What did you bring for us to eat?

In the past, guests often brought food from their various countries. The cultural selections were fun to read about.

Note: I will still be hosting the Inspire Me Monday Linky Party on Mondays and the Blogger’s Pit Stop Linky Party on Thursdays as well as replying to comments as my Internet access allows.

In the comments section, you are encouraged to self-promote.

Introduce your blog to the other guests at the party. Tell the readers about your blog, and post a link to your favorite post, a recent post, your About page, your blog link, or anything you like.

If you are not already following Mostly Blogging, I like new subscribers too.

Note: At other Meet and Greets, guests are encouraged to return and leave different links to articles in different comment boxes. You are welcome to return as often as you like and leave links.

I am hoping others will be able to find new blogs to read and new bloggers to connect with.

I will resume holding these networking opportunities twice a month when I return from my vacation.

Guests, if you think others would enjoy the networking opportunities at the Blogger Meet and Greet, please share on your social media.  The more guests at the party, the more networking opportunities for all of us.

If you get a chance to promote the link to this party on your site, that would also be much appreciated since it would help make others aware of this blog party.

      Hi Sandy!
If I was home, I’d come visit. I am on a cruise ship, and the Internet keeps cutting out. Frustrating! I appreciate you coming to my blog party this weekend.

Hmm, apologies Janice…age brain it was…I thought I’d been here but apparently not…so here I am

    Happy Sunday all ?

I write and ramble but currently the rambles are heading the writing on my blog.

    https://fictionisfood.wordpress.com

I write, try to, fiction…and recently essays on mindfulness and kindness as part of a kindness challenge that ran for seven weeks. One must say no to challenges and…but…well…challenges….I love challenges, no…no…writing, I love writing….focus required….bah….

I also like finding new blogs to follow and have a philosophy, like or reply to a comment anywhere I come looking ?

Have a good week all ?

    • Janice Wald

      Hi Gary,
What a supportive community member you are. Successful bloggers are those best at giving to others. Thanks for coming to my pot luck blog party this weekend.
      Janice

        Hi Janice,

I try, whether it works is another matter entirely ? It’s not always easy to find time to comment often….all about scheduling and time management methinks. Both of which I’m rubbish at so random it is ?

Boat not sunk yet then ?

        • Janice Wald

          Hi Gary,
Again you made me laugh! LOL! No, the boat’s not sunk yet! Although, we had a whale sighting. Someone said the whale would sink the boat. Give me a break! I knew the whale wouldn’t sink the boat, and it didn’t. Maybe they were kidding, but it didn’t seem like it.
          Janice

          • Gary Jefferies

That’s good to hear indeed..although it’s probably more sharks that would do me in than whales…in a sunk ship scenario…although if a whale swims as badly as some drive cars here then it might be able to inadvertantly ram the boat and cause indirect mayhem. Buy shark repellant in case.

You never struck me as being bad at time management either ? I mean you’re on a flipping cruise and still blogging….I’d be catastrophising about large mammal crash damage and Jaws…although new wave thinking suggests that author poetic license and a disaster movie script….any preference which actress plays you ?

Now, time travel…here is indeed a scientific ponderance in theoretical physics. Relativity theory suggests if one travelled to another planet and back at the speed of light then everyone you knew would have been deceased for many many years. This inference would be that while the journey for you relative to everyone else would be mere seconds. In reality you have thus moved into the future relative to those not travelling with you….. My understanding is moving into the future is not the debate point based on Einsteins predictions and relativity…travelling backwards in time is where it breaks down at present…a one way ride as it were. Technology is always the rate limiting step…and closed minds…that said what do I know? I only proved non-linear optics theory was giberish because it took no account of intermolecular charge transfer….quote from a prof reviewing it in Nature; “heresy in the world of non-linear optics”……I thought it was rather obvious too….see…former life of a research scientist leaking through……?

          • Janice Wald

            Hi Gary,
You are very knowledgeable about science. I am learning more about you. Thank you for the compliment about my time management. Guess what?! The ship hasn’t sunk yet! =). The people here are from Australia but the Brexit vote is a common topic of discussion. I hear people are marching in Britain and asking for a revote which doesn’t sound probable. I hope any protests don’t turn violent.
            Janice

        • Janice Wald

          Hi Gary,
I’m bad at time management too which is why I’m always trying to find ways to save time. Then, I blog about those ways. Win-win!
          Janice

          • Gary Jefferies

Probably replying to the wrong reply here but I reckon the number of replies is running out ? I think that makes sense !

I know a few things about science here and there….but it’s from a former existence ?

Brexit is a bit of a conversation point here….both political parties are in bits and the idiot in charge of UKIP also resigned today….we are, as they say, being led by headless chickens….quite literally. There have been demonstrations yes but so far no trouble….if it were the other way around I very much doubt that would be the case… Time will out as someone else also says somewhere!

          • Janice Wald

            Hi Gary,
Why don’t you blog about the Brexit vote? You have a strong opinion about it. Many other people are. If you look at the headlines (due to CommentLuv that’s enabled, you can), you will see that they are.
            Janice

          • Gary Jefferies

Crumbs another reply that might fall anywhere ?

Yes, quite right I have strong views on politicos and their, shall we say, ecomonomy with truths as they seek to be right at all costs….so far I’ve kept my thoughts on Brexit close to the chest….it’s one of those that boils the blood when I look at how poorly the thing was done…right from a parliamentary failure a priori to establish success criteria, through a weak remain effort and a bigoted exit one based on immigration…culminating with all three key out campaigners getting stuffed afterwards and nowhere near a position to do what they claimed….bah….soap box…must resist……

          • Janice Wald

            Hi Gary,
It’s your blog, of course. However, you might have fun, in a cathartic sort of way, blogging your political views on Brexit (or anything.) Many do.
Guess what?! The boat hasn’t sunk yet!
            Janice

          • Gary Jefferies

            Hi Janice,

I should hope it hasn’t sunk!! Right now I’m buried in a big to do list including a book synopsis for agents. New post is scheduled this weekend mind…part thereof a series…fiction this time though ?

Might consider a Brexit one…the politics is still quite fascinating ?

          • Janice Wald

            Hi Gary,
I hope you do the Brexit situation. I agree the politics are still quite fascinating. How do you feel about Teresa May? Do you think she’s a good choice? Good luck with your book synopsis for the agents. Gulp! I will hold good thoughts for you.
            Janice

          • Gary Jefferies

I shall have a think about it this weekend. Theresa May is the best option that was available. So far she us saying the right things but its actions that really cut the mustard. An issue all politicos seem to have trouble with!

Thanks re book synopsis…I have a draft to work on now at least!

        • Stoopid

It all started with your blog. I went to purpleslob from the link on yours to Gary’s link from a comment he made on her blog. Apparently you, Janice Wald, make the world go ’round.

          Have a great cruise!

      • Gary Jefferies

Not quite everywhere my friend, just occasionally go for a walk around blogs…usually on a coffee break….

I require a time machine to do it properly ?

        • Janice Wald

You mentioned time travel. I just had breakfast with an esteemed scientist on board. I asked him if time travel would ever be possible. He said no. Boy was I disappointed!
          Janice

    • Janice Wald

      Hi Daniel,
Thanks for coming to my party. I checked out your blog, quite a lot of entertainment there! Thanks for bringing us your brand of comedy.
      Janice

    • Gary Jefferies

      Hi Daniel,

Fascinating blog. Just popped over and gave you a follow ?

    • Janice Wald

      Hi!
Thank you for coming to my blog party and for bringing the ice cream. What’s your favorite flavor? Mine is chocolate chip.
      Janice

      • Stoopid

Very close. Mine is Mint Chocolate which is like marble fudge but mint ice cream instead of vanilla. Verrrrrry hard to find these days.

        • Janice Wald

          Hi,
Would you mind very much if I asked your first name? I’m sorry I don’t know it.
          Janice

        • Janice Wald

It must be hard to find. I’ve never heard of Mint Chocolate. I love mint chocolate chip, though.
          Janice

    • Janice Wald

      Hi Mike,
Welcome to my blog party! I love lemon meringue pie. Thanks for bringing your lemon bars.
      Janice
