The Easiest Way to Start a Beauty Video Blog for Your Business and Make Money

Getting video blogs into your business marketing mix adds an extra vigor to your brand presence and authority. Humans are visual by nature and will generally spend as much time on a video blog as they would on a site that’s only texts and images.

Aside from the potential to establish you and your business as an industry leader, video blogging helps you connect more at a personal level with your prospective customer as seeing you in video is more like meeting you physically. Here are things to do when thinking of starting a video blog for your business.

  • Understand your audience

Identify your demographics and study their lifestyles, wants, dislikes, favorite dressing styles, language nuances et cetera. This will help you present the appropriate visuals and craft a more engaging posts or script in a way that can better relate with and respond to.

  • Be interesting and engaging

A video blog has a feel of being live and is more faster-paced than a text and image blog. Therefore, you must creatively find ways to be interesting and engaging to sustain the viewer’s interest and keep them stay tuned for the next broadcast. Any hint of boredom and your traffic statistics will start nose diving faster than any other marketing platform.

  • Be conversational

Even though you can’t see them, remember there’s someone at the other end of the camera listening to you and watching every non-verbal cues you deliberately or inadvertently communicate. They’ll be asking questions too in the mind, even though you can’t hear it to immediately respond.
So, think of a video blog as basically a conversation and get imaginative about all the possible questions and issues your audience might want to raise. Answer them in your posts and keep the flow of communication going.

  • Keep your topics short

Typically, a video blog post should be about three to five minutes. If your recording is extending beyond that time, think of how to edit it to the ideal length by, for example, pairing the video with texts that highlight some of the points.

You can also do a longer video post of about 15 to 20 minutes, but it must really be interesting to hold the viewer’s interest down for that long. Otherwise, they may leave and won’t bother about ever returning to your blog site again.

  • Consider business insurance

Your customers too will come to trust and rely on you more. But like everything in life, things could go wrong sometimes, such as a worker getting injured or someone stealing some of your important work equipment.  You should be adequately prepared for unforeseen circumstances by getting the right business insurance policy cover for your beauty business.

Once you’ve achieved some success with your video blogging, it will instantly and positively rub off on both your online and offline business profile and profit margins. Having a proactive mindset in how you market your business is what’s necessary for success in this day and age and engaging your audience through video is just a part of the puzzle.

Your Blog Needs Video Content. Here’s Why…

Great tips for making any blog more successful. I don’t know if most bloggers need business insurances but other than that one nice job.

      Hi John,
Don’t you think anyone concerned about being sued would benefit from having insurance?

    Hi Daniel and Janice,

Thanks for sharing these tips. This is very helpful for beauty vlogger hopefuls. I agree with you about the duration of the videos. I love watching beauty tutorials but I after about 7 minutes or I start to think about other things I should be doing – not that I lose interest, I just have to move on to the next thing. 🙂

At first I was wondering why someone would need insurance but after giving it some thought, I understand why and that would be a good decision. It would also be a good idea to protect themselves with a “do this at your own risk”, “opinions are my own” or a “not a professional” disclosures as well.

Great post! Passing this on! 🙂
