Make Them Take Notice of Your Business Online

This post was contributed.

To be successful, your business needs to stand out from the crowd. When you’re promoting your brand online, you can use various tools and techniques to distinguish your company from competitors. Of course, knowing which SEO tools to use and how to employ them is the key to successfully marketing your business online.

With these tips and techniques, however, you can ensure your business has a great online presence and an online profile which continues to bring new clients and customers to your door…

4 Small Business Ideas That Will Get You Online Attention

1. Build a great website

Before you can start marketing your products and services anywhere else, you need to make sure your own website is on point. As well as delivering key information about your business, your website should showcase your corporate personality and offer value to users every time they visit.

In addition to this, you’ll need to ensure your website is fully optimized for SEO purposes. You can invest a lot of time improving your website content and promoting your brand on the net, but if users can’t find your site, it could all go to waste. With a solid SEO strategy and a website full of great content, you’ll find it far easier to attract users from your target audience.

2. Plan your branding

Launching a new business can be an exciting time and you may be eager to get the ball rolling. However, don’t overlook crucial factors which will have a long-term impact on your company. Your branding will become synonymous with your business, for example, so you’ll want to get your branding right from the start.

When you’re choosing your brand name, logo, typography and corporate colors, for example, you’ll want to do a significant amount of research and maybe even access professional assistance. As well as seeking generic advice, look for industry-specific information too. Take a look at personal trainer logo examples, dog walker websites or examples of IT consultancy blogs to see what’s out there and how other people in your industry are promoting their services.

3. Go social

Social media platforms are a fantastic way to promote your business, as they offer a way to engage directly with your target audience. Furthermore, social media marketing can be undertaken at no cost if you’re doing it yourself or for a relatively minimal outlay if you’re using an external provider.

With the option of sharing content, such as videos and blogs, via social media, you can increase the reach of any content you produce and ensure that it entices people to visit your website and engage with your brand as well.

4. Be mobile-friendly

Google favors mobile-friendly websites so ensure your website is fully optimized for mobile users. A responsive website is often the best way to achieve this, as it will automatically display content in the best possible format for the device that’s being used. While Google has only introduced mobile-first indexing relatively recently, changes happen quickly in the world of digital marketing. Keep an eye out for any upcoming changes to Google’s algorithms and get ahead of the game by adapting to them early.

Your business can stand out from the rest… just put these strategies into action.

Having a website is the best and only way to improve and expand our reach by establishing an online presence and building multiple leverage by putting content in a website is the wisest way to grow our business reach so we have the chance to be notice by many people. I think having a website is a good start.

      Hi Paul,
You raise some interesting points. Years ago, businesses relied on traditional offline marketing.
Now, they have to have employees versed at online marketing techniques, for example, SEO so their products can get visibility on Google. Almost sounds more complicated now, especially if they still rely on offline marketing too. Thanks for commenting and raising this interesting perspective.

    HI Janice,

These are all sound ideas for getting the word out there about your business.

I always love to get clients on board with some kind of live “branding” efforts, too, especially Facebook Live video.

You can do a Facebook Live, but then the recording of your live video replaces the “live” version, looking almost as “live” and getting great repeated exposure from Facebook.

And yes, as you mention, having a blog or website is essential… but you have to promote that site in order to attract prospects and clients to your business.

Great ideas here 🙂 and they all work.

      Hi Donna,
Great to see you. Thanks for coming by. I appreciate you adding to the discussion. You are right. You must promote your web content. The cliche expression “If you build it, they will come,” just doesn’t cut it in content marketing. Thanks as well for the testimonial about the value of live video.
