      Hi Rosie,
Did you reblog the Meet and Greet? If you did, that’s great! How is it going? Are you getting a lot of people?

      • Janice Wald

I checked out your site, and it sounded like the Meet and Greet reblog got a lot of people for you. I’m glad.

  9. Traci Otte

Great idea! Thanks! I’m a jewelry designer and teacher, and my blog is all about that and other crafty things I do (knitting, crocheting, stamping, etc.). I also have reviewed books, jewelry tools, yarn, my favorite Japanese restaurant, and my husband. Other topics include various aspects of my business (classes I teach, how I write tutorials and make kits, and stuff like that) and showing off what other people do. My main blog page is http://mix-me-up.blogspot.com/, but the post I really want shared is about classes I and some of my friends are teaching at the Bead&Button Show: http://mix-me-up.blogspot.com/2015/02/the-great-2015-b-show-class-share-thon.html. If any of you could pin it or share it on Facebook or tweet about it or whatever, I’d be eternally grateful. I have zero registrations for my two classes, and I’m getting twitchy.

I’m looking forward to checking out your blogs!

    • Janice Wald

      Hi Tracie,
I saw you at Pinterest I think today. How cool is that! I often see my “blogging circles” at Twitter, but today is the first day I saw you and one other at Pinterest, if I am correct. I am having so much fun making professional looking graphics. It’s an adrenaline rush when the Pinterest crowd is interested. I’ve never been terribly artistic or creative.
I’m sorry about your current frustrations. I know I help with blogging advice, but I’d love to check out your pins. Feel free to send me the link to your Pinterest boards. I’ll see if I can’t give any feedback that might help. I wrote in a post coming out in 3 hours that I’m having quite a bit of success over at Pinterest with a photo of mine that followed the rule of thirds. Send me your Pinterest link if you want, and I’ll see if I can help.
      Janice

      • Traci Otte

        Hi, Janice!

Thanks for the reply, the follow on Twitter, and the like on my Creative Pursuits Facebook page! 🙂 I’m following you on Pinterest (and now on Twitter), so maybe that’s where you saw my name. I was going to send you the links to my boards through Pinterest, but I guess I can’t do that unless you’re following me, too. Here’s my Pinterest link: https://www.pinterest.com/taotte/. The first three boards (My jewelry designs, Can’t wait!, and Mix Me Up! reviews) are the ones dedicated to my business stuff. Thanks for the offer of help! I need all I can get.

You say you’re not terribly artistic or creative, but what you do with the blog advice IS a form of creativity. You have to think creatively to come up with all those tips, right? Now for MY kind of creativity… If you want to learn to make jewelry, all you have to do is find a tutorial for a design you like and follow the directions, much like a recipe. In the end, you’ll have a lovely piece of jewelry that you can tell people you made yourself! Do that enough times, and you’ll probably be comfortable enough with making slight adjustments to the designs, then to experimenting with the beads on your own. That’s how I got started.

        Thanks again!

        Traci

        • Janice Wald

          Hi Traci,
I’ve critiqued students’ work in English and history, and I’ve critiqued blogs. I’ve never critiqued pins, but I did follow you on Pinterst. Based on all my reading and personal traffic, I’m confident I can give you my opinion.
I’m following you now, all your boards, on Pinterest. Grades are due this week. Please bare with me if it’s at the end of the week. Thanks,
          Janice

      Hi Clarissa,
Welcome to our Meet and Greet, and thank you for following my blog! I am so touched by your kind words I am going to put them on my Testimonial page, anonymously, of course. Thank you, and welcome once again.

      • cwilson72180

Hi Janice, you don’t have to keep the testimonial anonymous. You can use my name if you want. Thanks!

        • Janice Wald

          Hi,
I’m going to try and be cognizant of other bloggers’ Testimonial page to see if they have anonymous comments or not. Thanks so much for the offer though. I hope you (and everyone) are getting to meet new bloggers this week thanks to my Meet and Greet.

I have read Adrian’s posts about cruising. They are detailed and thorough. I’m sure they are representative of all her posts, and that hers would be an informative blog to read.

  20. Alka Girdhar

Thanks to this opportunity for Meet and Greet.

I am Alka and my blog name is Magnanimous Word.

    https://alkagirdhar.wordpress.com/

The URL is in my name, it needs to change but till then…

Here you will find my original poems, articles, random views, stories, anything – but the focus is on inspiring others as well as deriving general philosophy of good life.

Well, I started this blog last year but for the whole year did not contribute to it. Only around three months ago I came back with renewed interest and have been writing while still learning about this blogging business. I never knew it is business but now I know though still believe it should not be so.
I need your support. Please read my write ups and suggest or comment so that I can learn from you all.

    • Janice Wald

      Hi Alka,
Nice to meet you. Thank you for coming to my Meet and Greet!
It sounds like you have a pretty popular theme, so finding readership shouldn’t be too difficult.
      Janice

      • Alka Girdhar

        Hi Janice,

Thanks for your suggestions. When you say I have a popular theme, do you mean I have general topics that cover vast areas? I suppose theme here doesn’t mean my Twenty Twelve theme.

        Alka

  21. Janice Wald

    Hi Tameka,
Welcome! Thank you for coming to my blogging event! Because this is my first blogging event which was published several weeks ago, don’t wait for them to come to you. If there are any blogs that sound interesting, go in and network with them. Tell them you found them at the Reflections Meet and Greet, so they will know you are looking to network.
    Janice

    • Janice Wald

      Hi,
Thank you so much for the kind words about my blogging tips. Thank you for coming to our Meet and Greet. Since the Meet and Greet came out several weeks ago, I’d recommend you being the one to go to their blogs and network with them. I actually have a third one coming out in about a week, so look for it.
      Thank you again,
      Nice to meet you.
      Janice
