Not getting views on YouTube?

You need this important guide.

This information is especially important in 2020.

Today, views and viewing time are the main indicator of your channel since a large number of videos are viewed by users from search, trends, or recommended without a subscription to the channel.

What is waiting for you on YouTube in 2020?

By the time you’re done reading this post, you will know: How to promote your YouTube channel, gain new subscribers, and increase the number of video views.

Not getting views on YouTube? Here is your YouTube action plan.

How to Promote Your YouTube Channel in 2020

YouTube Audience

The service has collected a huge amount of various video content, hundreds of thousands of channels successfully exist and are continually developing, and it is becoming more difficult to compete with them.

It will take more than 1000 years to watch all the videos uploaded to YouTube!

Not getting views on YouTube? It’s no wonder with all this competition.

Today, the algorithms of the YouTube service try to show their users the most relevant content. How do these algorithms understand that the content matches the query and can be offered to the user?

Algorithms for the YouTube Service

First of all, the system relies on the description of the video, and the better it is compiled, the higher the rating the video will get, and the higher it will be in the search results.

The second more important parameter for displaying a video in the top search is the number of views. The more views, the more clicks on the main image of the video, and the longer the viewing time, the more relevant the content is considered.

Trends Section

The same algorithm is used for displaying videos in the Trends section. This includes videos that received more views in the first three hours after publication. Of course, there are a lot of secondary indicators that track YouTube’s algorithms for decision making, and one of the obvious factors is the length of the video.

A long video that is watched in full will have priority in the output, all other things being equal. But this does not in any way indicate that you need to shoot long videos. But I will write about this below.

Also, do not forget that YouTube is the number two search engine and when searching for interesting videos, the service’s algorithms count not only the views of relevant content but also conduct an overall evaluation of the channel for all available videos.

If the channel is dominated by videos with a large number of views, then the overall rating of the channel will be higher. And in any case, you can buy YouTube views which will also be displayed positively in the search results.

Strategy and Launch of the YouTube Channel

Newcomers, as always, will have the most difficult time; even if you have high-quality, popular, and unique content, it will take time and patience for the channel to grow steadily.

At the initial stage, you should immediately decide on the strategy of your YouTube channel and choose one of the monetization options:

The first option is to set the maximum number of subscribers in order to attract advertisers, plus enabling monetization.

The second option is to optimize for search traffic in order to sell your products and services for targeted queries. YouTube is a great search engine.

The third option is just necessary and useful information for general use without any monetization and advertising.

There are many options without monetization, but they are not so interesting.

Next Steps:

If you have chosen a strategy for recruiting subscribers and attracting advertisers, the next step is to select the channel theme that will determine the format of video content.

For example, a channel about everything is not the best option, with its pros and fat cons. Despite the fact that there are several such channels and they are very popular, this is a poor idea.

When choosing a topic, analysis of competitors’ channels will help. It is worth seeing which of them are now popular and growing fast, which videos bring the most views and go into trends. There is no point in completely copying a competitor’s channel, and you should try to create your own unique content, but the general vector of development is already clear.

The Secret Formula for Success on YouTube

What indicators YouTube pays most attention to and what the formula for success looks like:

The first indicator that YouTube is interested in is CTR (Click Through Rate). YouTube itself decrypts it as follows.

CTR: How many times users viewed the video after displaying the icon. This indicator can be used to judge the effectiveness of icons, or as the icon markers say.

Icon: The icon is the title image that we see above the title of a video clip when searching in recommended settings, and so on. You can view this indicator in the statistics for each video clip.

Audience Retention: The second indicator is audience retention. The longer the video is watched, the better. If the video is watched to the end, it is generally ideal. Here you can just decide on the duration of the videos.

The formula is simple: How much you watch; how much you need to shoot. Information about the duration of viewing videos is also available in the statistics section. We analyze, draw conclusions, and optimize the content.

And the third indicator is the viewing depth. It is desirable that YouTube users watch videos one after another and do not leave the channel. The more videos they watch, the better.

All information is also available in statistics. You can and should work with these metrics.

To increase their performance, you need to follow a few simple rules:

Always follow trends and hot topics in your niche. Study statistics and observe their dynamics.

To emulate the brand, observe the visible title of the picture for each video. Create a title with the main keywords, add a description in the form of a linked text with the integration of all tags from the video.

Adding temporary navigation to the description will be a plus. To increase the depth of viewing the YouTube channel, be sure to add hints and make the final screensaver with transitions to the following videos.

This way the user’s path will be longer and the channel will have a high viewing depth. Having a serial also works well to increase the viewing depth.

Host blogger’s comments: If you are not getting views on YouTube, you might want to observe the YouTube accounts of Vanessa Lau and the Social Media Examiner. Both channels show you the thumbnails of other videos they’ve made offering supplemental information.

This keeps you on the channel which gives the YouTube algorithm the incentive you give your videos more views.

How to Get Into the Trends if you Have Money, and is it Worth it?

Many customers come with a request to promote the video in the Trends, completely not understanding why they need it. Many people think that they will get a huge number of clicks on the channel, new subscribers, and views. Unfortunately, this is not the case.

Read the comments under the videos, the bulk of them will be negative, insults, and other nastiness. Why is that? Yes, because the audience is not targeted.

To get a noticeable result from displaying the video in trends, you need to think through all the steps in advance and create a strategy: The theme of the video, how and where to take the audience from it, what they will see on the landing page, and so on.

It is especially worth noting that the duration of the video for displaying in Trends should not exceed 30 seconds.

Not Getting Views on YouTube? No Need to Reinvent the Wheel

Don’t reinvent the wheel; there is a huge amount of authors and content on YouTube today. To begin with, it’s enough to conduct a good analysis, see how popular channels work, which videos have the most views, and which mechanics are used to recruit subscribers.

Takeaways:

Here is your action plan if you are not getting views on YouTube:

Do what is currently in demand by the audience, study the numbers and statistics. Think through your actions. Experiment and look for new opportunities. Follow the news and trends. Work with the semantic core of your channel. Correctly write the titles and descriptions for your videos, YouTube is perfectly indexed by search engines.

To speed up the recruitment of subscribers, use the seeding services and the Google Ads Advertising Cabinet. Yes, these are costs, but they will accelerate the growth of your channel and help you monetize it faster.

Competition on YouTube has increased a lot in some niches. Something that has already brought me a lot of views was making videos with subjects similar to those of famous youtubers, which made my video recommended by youtube to those who watched the youtuber video. Another tip is to make Thumbnails that catch the user’s attention, if a video attracts many clicks it is increasingly recommended by the Youtube system.

    Hey there Janice !
I genuinely don’t recommend any person to launch a youtube channel in this day & age without an already successful past experience within a channel cause it would be a lost cause in my opinion and the competition is way too intense :p.
Apart from that, I don’t exclude the probability of coming up with a well-planned and executed strategy to abide by the youtube algorithm ‘s patterns like the one mentioned in the article can allow someone to be part of that competiton 🙂

As Said replied, I also think that the competition is too strong, significantly reducing a chance for success. On the other hand, the audience is still growing, and the tips are certainly helpful!

Hoping things work out well with all your suggestions.

Hi Janice, I think keyword research helps you a lot in getting more views on YouTube.

Most people often ignore doing keyword research for YouTube. You can use tools like Ahrefs, KeywordTool.io to find exclusive keywords for YouTube so you can optimize your videos (in titles, meta description etc) to generate more views.

Apart from that, you can also create eye-catching thumbnails as they matter a lot in attracting more views from other YouTubers. You can also create playlists and persuade people to subscribe to your channel.

Good insights btw. Keep up the great work.

      Great to see you here!
