How to Use InstaSize
This is the photo I chose to edit:
Step 1: Open the app on your iPhone.
Step 2: Click the plus sign to choose a photo from your photo library.
Step 3: Give InstaSize permission to access your photo library.
Step 4: Choose the format. Your choices are Photo, Video, or Collage.
Step 5: Select from your photo library the photo or video you want to edit.
Step 6: Choose your filter. You will see your filter choices appear. You are able to preview how your photo will look after you select the filter.
I wanted to choose a filter that would make the colors in my flowers more prominent. There were so many filters, I felt like I’d be scrolling all day! You will see black and white filter choices as well. Your choices include filters that mute the colors, filters that make the roses prominent but not the background, and many other options.
You naturally have more choices with the Premium version than you do during your free trial.
There are even filters called Rose and Bloom. In the end, I chose Osaka.
Step 7: Apply the effects.
Next to the filter icon at the bottom of your screen, you’ll see your Effects options. Your choices are Exposure, Contrast, Lux, Brightness, Sharpness, Saturation, Tint, Warmth, and Vignette.
These were the effects I applied to my image:
Exposure: I wanted brighter followers, so I bumped the Exposure to 10.
Contrast: A contrast between the red and the green should make these red flowers stand out even more, so I increased the contrast to 40.
Lux: This filter makes details stand out that weren’t noticed before. I boosted Lux to 33. The details in the flowers behind the roses were suddenly visible.
Brightness: Obviously taken on a cloudy day, the photo needed brightening. I shot Brightness up to 50, the maximum.
Sharpness: I shot Sharpness up to 46. The roses did indeed become sharper.
Saturation: I love this effect! Color popped out I hadn’t noticed before like the yellow leaves on the right.
Tint: Not used.
Warmth: I actually lowered the warmth to -22. My roses seemed redder when I did.
Vignette: The effect cast a shadow around my image. I did not apply it.
Step 8: Add your text. Next to the portrait icon is an icon with lines on it. Click to add text. You can add more text by clicking the “T.”
Various styles will appear. Click to make your selection! If you want to mix up the styles, tap “Shuffle.”
When you click “Edit text,” a color palette comes up. You can change your font color.
Step 9: Click Done and choose what you want to do with your graphic. You can send your creation directly to Instagram or Snapchat. You can save it to your image library and so forth. You can even send it to other photo-editing apps like Snapseed.
Would you like to see my creation? You can really see the improvement in contrast to the original photo.
