How to Get Blogging Help Now [Blogger Collaboration Group]

By: | March 17, 2016 | Tags: , , , , |

Bloggers

In honor of St. Patrick’s Day, we are starting a blogger collaboration group.

You shouldn’t have to do all the time-consuming tasks involved in blogging by yourself if other people can help you. Other bloggers can certainly help you promote your articles.

This is a follow-up to the popular post How to Increase Traffic with Blogger Collaboration.

What does this have to do with St. Patrick’s Day?

People make a wish on a four-leaf clover.

Bloggers can leave a wish in the comment section.

What is your blogging wish?

Please leave your link and your wish for your post in the Blogger Collaboration Group comment section.

Would you like comments on the post? Your post shared? A like? Do you need a like for your Facebook page? Would you like your Pinterest pin shared?

Instructions for how to help another blogger:

Step 1: Subscribe to this blog, MostlyBlogging.com.

Step 2: Leave your post link (not your blog link) in the comment section.

Step 3: Leave your wish for your article in the same comment box.

Step 4: Go to the comment section in the Blogger Collaboration Group and make at least one other blogger’s wish come true.

Step 5: Click Reply, Done, so other bloggers know who has already received help with a post.

Step 6: Smile! You just helped make another blogger’s wish come true.

Please share, so other bloggers know about our group and how they can get help with their blog promotion.

This is such a fabulous idea. But of course it is, look who conceived it!

When you wish upon a star….. Oops, wrong gig!

My wish is for the link I am leaving in this comment (a humorous menu for Bloggers) will become popular amongst all writers. (And I always respond to comments!)

    • GaryJefferies

Nice blog Stephanie. And a book too. How cool is that!

Trouble with food blogs though is they make me hungry ?

I shall look around some more and eventually find the follow button…I so hate being new at something !!!!!

    • Janice Wald

      Hi Stephanie,
Oh no, my first comment, and my first challenge. I am stumped! I don’t know how to make your post more widely popular among readers than it already is. I just came from there. Your post is a hit! Quite an engaged community!
      Janice

    Hi Janice,
Its a great Idea to get more exposure. But isn’t there any joining procedure fo the group or be like on group on Facebook or other networking site.
    Thanks for the share.

    • Janice Wald

      Hi Robin,
People just need to subscribe to my blog. That way, the group is a perk for my blog subscribers.
      Janice

  3. GaryJefferies

Cool idea Janice and as you know my current what the heck am I doing mantra wrt social media is in it’s infancy. Growing a following would be my wish I guess but tempered by self critical mind saying ‘hey, the books you try to write and exercpts are going out there to be ridiculed.’

This observation during a course on mindfulnes suggested is default mode catastrophising. Apparently it’s not helpful. I try to tell my mind this and it laughs. Most disparaging !

Still, onwards and upwards as they say and here I am wishing on a star…no wait, Stephanie D Lewis already used that line….

In conclusion amidst a brief mindfull state, I’m wishing to grow a following so I have people to go ‘hey there my books about to be published, any chance of reviews and feedback?’

  4. John Doe

What a great follow-up to your other post. You always come up with the best ideas to help us thank you so much. You’re the best

    • Janice Wald

      Hi Lori,
I shared your post on my FB Blog Group Page with a comment that you were looking for people to share your post on FB. I also put your request on the Blogger Group page so others would see it.

My wish is to consistently get over 100 views per day. We are a small blog, trying to make hobby blogging successful. There are three of us writing content and enjoying the experience. But we are missing a key point, and we are trying to figure out what. So my wish is that you will share our blog, this wonderful reeses peanut butter cup milkshake and help us reach 100 views (visitors would be even better) today. Thank you so much.

    • Kara

Yum! This is such a fun concept for a blog. I love Pinterest, but always wonder if the pins will really work or taste good. You’ve recruited a new follower. 🙂

    • Janice Wald

      Hi Kelly,
Great to see you. It looks like your wish is coming true! I am excited about the connection between you and Kara. I copy-pasted your request and put it on the Blogger Collaboration Group page, so people will see on the static page and know you are looking for readers and subscribers.
      Janice

Hi BBFFJ, I think you need to be crowned Queen of ALL Blogging Promoters! You are so kind to constantly help us promote ourselves.
Ummm, what I want, is to know how to consolidate categories. When I first started out, I made a category for every.tiny.thing. And now I realize that is way too unwieldy.
It’s not a specific post, bu I’ll link one. Thanks again for the chance to make connections, and find new friends!
Happy St Patrick’s DAy! Are you wearing green? I’ve got on my shamrock earrings. No pinches for me!!
    https://purpleslobinrecovery.wordpress.com/2015/10/15/pearlys-post/

    • Janice Wald

      Hi BBFFM,
Thanks for writing and your kind words. I am glad you like my idea.
Regarding your question: I agree too many categories is “unwieldy.” Especially in light of my new practice of using fewer tags. Search engines will index you if they know what you blog is about. The fewer categories the better. Could you go back into the posts and delete/consolidate categories? Then click “Update” so the change will implement. I hope that helps.
      BBFFJ
PS, Yes, I wore green today. No pinches for me either!

      • Melinda

Yes, but I don’t know how to delete the actual categories themselves from my side bar.

        • Janice Wald

          Hi Melinda,
Here is your answer to how to delete categories.
In my dashboard, I would hover over the word posts. A dropdown menu opens. I would select “Categories.” All my categories would come up. I would check the one I don’t want and click “delete.”
If that doesn’t work, let me know, and I will go back into my WordPress.com dashboard and take a look. Please let me know either way if it works or not. I don’t want to worry about my BBFFM.
          J

  7. Kara

Janice, I love this idea – thank you so much for the opportunity!

My St. Patrick’s Day wish is find new followers and to discover new blogs in the process. Check out today’s post, “Rattlesnake Tails & Other Gifts From My Grandma” at http://www.GratefulandAuthentic.com

    • Janice Wald

      HI Kara,
Thanks so much for your interest in my group. I am always happy to help and happily others are too.

The way to get new followers is to get more exposure. Therefore, I shared your rattle snake post across all my social media, so more people could discover your blog. I also copy-pasted your request and put it on the Blogger Collaboration static group page, so people would see it.
      Janice

      • Kara

Thanks, Janice! You are the best — I truly appreciate your help. Your blog is an incredibly valuable resource. Thank you for all that you do!

  8. Lee MacArthur

My wish is to find enough time to actually develop my blog so I have more readers. Check out my post on St. Patrick’s Day traditions. Please leave a comment.

  9. Annette Rochelle Aben

This is such a terrific idea! I am most grateful and here is my blogging wish: that people will share this post which is about the book I recently published. Angel Messages – a wing and a prayer is available on Amazon in both paperback and Kindle format. A fellow blogger did a post the other day and I reposted it. Here is the link and I thank you, in advance, for connecting with this post, as well as for checking out the book on Amazon. https://annetterochelleaben.wordpress.com/2016/03/15/new-book-fanfare-angel-messages-a-wing-and-a-prayer-by-annette-rochelle-aben/

    • Janice Wald

      Annette,
I am really so proud of you. Thank you for coming by and complimenting my idea. I am off to share your post across all my social media.
      Janice

      • Annette Rochelle Aben

You are most welcome. We are all in this together and I am honored to support the good in this world!

    • Janice Wald

I also put your request on the static page, so everyone will see it.
      Janice

    • Janice Wald

      Hi Katie,
Access your blog and comment on your blog: I wrote on your blog that you need to only use WordPress. Their tech support is wonderful. They will help you, and usually via live chat.
You want more followers? You need more exposure, so I shared your post across all my social media.
May I ask, why do you only have one social share button for Google+? Have one for Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest,…
I would like to recommend you join Blogger Reciprocation Groups like this one:
https://www.facebook.com/groups/WriteSharePromote/ They will share your posts for you if you do the same for them which will get you more exposure.
      Janice

        • Janice Wald

Janice Wald. Look in Spam? I have instructions but they are for word press for social share buttons

    • Janice Wald

      Hi Peter,
Thank you for joining our group. I hope you are doing great as well. I would love to make your blocking wish come true. What is your wish for your post?

  10. Valerie

I’m new to this wonderful blog (thanks Janice!. My site is Midlife-A-Go-Go, and it’s geared towards the wonderful women of midlife. It’s a solo operation…yup, just ‘lil old me, but I try to keep the content fresh, often humorous and insightful. So here’s my post wish:

    http://www.midlifeagogo.com/the-cartwheels-of-midlife/

My ultimate goal is to get more people involved in the site with comments, likes, shares, etc. Midlife-A-Go-Go is just under a year old and a great birthday (or is that anniversary?!?) wish would be to see it flourish and explode (‘explode’ good, not the bad explode…).

    Thanks!
    Valerie

    • Janice Wald

      Hi Valerie,
Thank you so much for the kind words about my blog. I was hoping to keep the Blogger Collaboration Group (https://mostlyblogging.com/blogger-collaboration-group/) as a perk for my blog subscribers, you understand, my way of thanking them for subscribing to my blog. I took the liberty of adding your Email which came in with your comment to the “Subscribe” box. If you could take just a moment to activate the link which should be in your Email, I’d be happy to paste your comment onto the static group page, so everyone who comes in sees it. I will also share your post across all my social media which will get your more exposure. When you activate your link and subscribe, you will be apprised of my ten monthly networking events including two monthly Meet and Greets. Attending them will also get your blog more exposure. Thank you for your interest in my blog and my Collaboration group.
      Janice

    • Janice Wald

      Hi Valerie,
Since you said you wanted to subscribe but had difficulty, I took the liberty of adding you to my MailChimp Email list. I hope that was okay.
I commented on your post and shared it across my social media.
Please come to my ten networking events, especially my two monthly Meet and Greets. They are a great way to meet others so your blog “explodes”. You will get notified of them since you are on the MailChimp list. Happy Blogversary.
      Janice

me again, officially obsessed with you! haha – you really write such great articles – there’s a million similar ones out there and I find that so many of them are super redundant and speak to nothing, really. Buy yours always teach me at least 1 or 2 new things, or things I knew but didn’t implement well. You go!
Im sharing my most recent post and giveaway – http://style-island.com/6-reasons-girls-season-5-may-best-yet/

I’d love some more eyes on it!

Overall, my issue is traffic. I don’t ever have problems coming up with content, and get pitched by a lot of great brands, and work/ have worked on some large partnerships in various categories. And yet, the quality of my work doesn’t ever match the quantity. I do think more and more these days its about who and how you engage the readers you do reach, as opposed to how many. But, that being said, at the end of the day, in many cases your numbers very much reflect the work/writing you’re capable of getting. I’d really love to figure out how to truly get my traffic to grow. I know one thing would be consistency! But I do post, and I promote too – there are just so many hours in a day!!! Many of your ideas definitely seem to pare down basic hacks so a start i suppose…
If you have time, I’d love to hear your thoughts/ feedback! thanks! http://style-island.com

This is such a great idea!! My blog is about my personal life experiences that I find easier to share by writing down. I’m grateful for your help in this and allowing me to be a part of this group. I am fairly new to this blogging thing and would appreciate all the help and advice I can get 🙂

My first blog was on “Losing a loved one” and I would be grateful if you would like to take a read:
    https://blogmylife86.wordpress.com/2016/07/13/blog/

Ultimately I would love to have more followers, likes and hopefully some collaborations.

    • Janice Wald

      Hi Shreena,
I stumbled your post and commented on it. You said you’d like to have more followers. When I have blog parties, make sure you come and tell people about your blog. It’s a great way to get followers. The first Saturday in August I have one scheduled.
      Janice
