Blogging and Business: Making Your Site More Appealing to Sponsors

This post was contributed.

Your blog is your personal space on the internet; it’s a place for you to get creative and a chance for you to talk about and your interests and the ideas you want to showcase to the world.

It’s also a good opportunity to make money, and if you want to earn an income from it, it’s a good idea then to put your best foot forward with it, making sure everything is completed to the best of your best ability. Here are a few ideas on how you can improve your blog, and have it at its best.

How to Get Sponsored:

Improve Your Photography

Using stock pictures on your blog are all well and good; there are some gorgeous ones you can use online and sometimes you need to use them.

However, if you can capture the perfect images for it yourself then that’s even better. Improving the photographs on your blog will make your blog posts stand out when people visit, drawing them in and making them want to read your content.

It will also make your blog feel so much more personal when your own original pictures are on display. It’s a good feeling to know the photographs on your blog are nowhere else on the web, and they are all taken by you and relevant to your subject matter. There are lots of guides online on how to improve your photography, and it’s always nice to add another string to your bow.

Upgrade Your Design

By improving the design of your blog you can attract more sponsors; advertisers will want to work with the most professional-looking sites.

There’s a lot of competition when it comes to paid work; if your site has a similar domain authority to your competitors then sponsors will likely choose the one that looks the best. Not to mention that a sleek looking site will appeal to your readers too.

A lot of bloggers are so focused on putting out well-written content that the design element can be mistakenly overlooked, however, both factors are important for having a successful blog.

Obviously, it is the content that keeps readers returning but a beautiful design can really attract your reader’s attention and draw them in the first place. If you need help giving your blog a facelift there are sites such as uplift360.com.au that can help you make it the best it can be. A design that stands out is great for first impressions when someone new is visiting and so can generate more readers too.

Get Creative With Your Content

Getting creative with your content will make your blog more interesting. There are so many blogs out there covering the same old topics, it seems all the popular topics are covered in one way or another.  Posting fresh blogs from time to time is essential to gain the readers’ interest. This is how content writing services could help your business. Otherwise, you have to make sure you’re putting your own spin on things to make your content more original.

Write from personal experiences and your blog will be more unique, rather than offer generic advice. After all, there is only one you, meaning your personal ideas and opinions are different from other content out there.

There’s information on the web about brainstorming and keeping a journal for your ideas, but if you are serious about creating unique quality articles and really want to put the best content out, maybe a good writing course could be something to consider.

Providing meaningful, interesting and unique content is a recipe for success and pride and satisfaction for the writer. People love blogs because they’re personal, so speak from your own personal experience. When your readers like and relate to you, they’ll keep coming back.

Readers, please share so other bloggers know how to get sponsored and monetize their blogs.

Yes, of course our personal experiences or information helps us to stand out on top to get the attention. So let’s be more personal!

I agree, a touching and eye-catching image captured by us also will get more attention.

Last but not the least, is our unique contents which gives the readers a thought to express theirs. A stale and same old one even in a new bottle will not give that quick to the readers, so as you said let’s be creative writers!

Base on my experience. To attract sponsors. You need to be creative in creating content because as you attract more people coming to your blog then more chances you are also driving sponsors that might decide to work with you. That is simply how you get more sponsors it’s all about numbers game traffic.

You can also write your monthly traffic report., this is most sponsors are looking after the volume of traffic is what matters to them because they want to make sure that people will see what they want you to promote.

    • Janice Wald

      Hi Paul,
I find many potential sponsors already check out my traffic on AHrefs before approaching me.
I try to write more obscure tips than others. Is that what you mean by “creative?”

        Hi,
That happens to me all the time. I get queries each week but when I tell people how much I charge for a sponsored post, either I never hear from them again or they reply with a bid so little it’s laughable.

Hi Janice, great tips for bloggers! I know there tends to be a huge focus on content by everyone, but if you aren’t presenting that content in a visually appealing way, you are facing an uphill battle, especially with sponsors.

    • Janice Wald

      Hi Melissa,
You are right. It’s almost sad. You can have the greatest content in the whole wide world but if your site isn’t visually appealing, you could have trouble monetizing.
      Thanks for writing.
      Janice
