This post answers the question, “How can I run dream blogs?”

This post will not tell you how you can run a blog about dreams.

By reading this guide, you will be able to make your blogging dreams come true.

Why does it matter what dream blogs are?

Isn’t it enough just to start a blog and hope people will come?

After all, there are 500 million blogs in the world (Source). How difficult can running a blog be?

Can’t you just start a blog and hope for the best?

No.

The expression from the movie Field of Dreams, “Build it and he will come,” does not apply to blogs.

You need to have a vision of what dream blogs are according to your own personal definition and vision.

That vision will lead you to have goals which will help you form an action plan.

This post helps you formulate what “dream blogs” mean to you.

By the time you are done reading this article, you’ll be able to clarify what a dream blog is and have an action plan of how to create your dream blog.

In addition, you’ll read the responses to an interview I conducted at Reddit in an attempt to discover what “dream blogs” mean to individual bloggers.

If any of the criteria the respondents share in this post resonate with you, perhaps you can add the descriptions to make an action plan for your 2021 dream blog.

Note: Before we start discovering how to create dream blogs, we need to make an important point. For the purposes of this post, you already have a blog. Clearly, you can’t create a dream blog without having a blog.

In brief, you need a CMS, a Content Management System. I recommend WordPress.com for hobby bloggers and WordPress.org for bloggers who want to make money.

You will find live support at WordPress.com. If you are new to blogging, you may find this appealing when considering where you will create your dream blogs.

What constitutes dream blogs?

The answer to the question is personal and may vary from blogger to blogger.

When I searched “dream blogs,” my research told me a dream blog is a blog about dreams.

Is that what we mean when we exclaim we want to run a dream blog?

No.

This guide to dream blogs will share my opinion of dream blogs as well as the opinions of the members of the Reddit Blogging SubReddit who responded to my interview question.

By the time you are done reading, you will have a list of criteria to give you an action plan to make your own dream blog.

Several respondents at Reddit answered tongue-in-cheek, but most took the question seriously. No one defined “dream blogs” as blogs about dreams.

Dream Blogs Description

I asked myself how I would describe the perfect blog.

That is what I mean by a dream blog:

Do dream blogs help?

A reader recently sent me an email after receiving my latest blog post.

This is what he wrote:

“Janice,

Thank you very much for sharing with myself your knowledge.

Happy New Year.”

I am touched that a reader took his time to respond to my newsletter by thanking me for sharing my tips.

My criteria for dream blogs include helping people. I received quite an adrenalin rush when I read this and realized that readers believe we are helping and experience gratitude.

Do dream blogs state the information clearly?

Since I am a teacher-blogger, I am able to break down complex information into understandable parts. SEO, for instance, can be quite complex. Does your blog meet this criterion?

Do dream blogs load quickly?

Use GTMetrix to check your website’s loading time. Ideally, your site loads in under two seconds.

If your site is slow to load, you may want to remove some unnecessary plugins.

Google has stated it will give priority this year to websites that load quickly on a mobile device. Google calls this focus “Mobile First.”

Do dream blogs see improvement?

Never rest on your laurels. Keep reading and visiting forums. I recommend visiting and being an active participant in Reddit subReddits in your niche. In this way, you will grow as a blogger. Here are currently popular subReddits: hot subReddits.

Do dream blogs make money?

There are many ways to make money writing:

For instance, you could author an ebook by compiling your blog posts, be a freelance writer, have Pay Per Click advertising on your blog, and be an affiliate marketer. These are just examples of the ways bloggers monetize.

Note: Hobby bloggers may not consider monetization a characteristic of dream blogs. As I explained, the answer is personal to each of you.

Some bloggers express that attempting monetization removes the joy of blogging. If you feel this way, don’t include monetization in your goals for your dream blog.

Do dream blogs get social shares?

Both the blogger and readers should share the post. When bloggers share, this is called “blog promotion.” Bloggers can promote posts in places like Facebook groups.

Social share buttons are needed so visitors can share. Make sure in your blog post conclusion you have a Call to Action (CTA) asking visitors to share and tell them why they should, how your post will benefit people they share with.

Do dream blogs work like a well-oiled machine?

Free and paid tools exist to help you save time on your blogging tasks. You need these tools so you have time for content creation.

Do you have favorite blogging tools? My favorite SEO tools are KWFinder for keyword research and SERPRobot for keyword rank tracking. Here is a SERPRobot tutorial.

I also use the MozBar for competitive analysis. Here is more information about the MozBar.

My favorite social media tools are Inssist and Buffer for desktop social media publishing. Here is an Inssist Instagram Viewer for Computer tutorial.

Do dream blogs get recognition?

Dream blogs

One of the reasons I answer questions at Quora.com in my niche is to spread my influence in my content area. Bloggers should expand their brands. Quora is a great place to do this.

Due to being recognized as a blogging tips blogger, I am one of the judges of the Bloggers Bash Blogging Competition held in London, England.

Although the event was cancelled in 2020 due to the pandemic, I look forward to resuming my judging activities when the contest resumes.

How many subtopics do you have?

My umbrella content niche is blogging; however, I have many subtopics that all relate to my overarching niche.

I blog about blogging, business, social media, SEO, and productivity just to name a few.

By having subtopics, you help more people. Check Google Analytics/Audience/Interests to see what interests your audience has. Blog about those topics.
