With only a few blog followers? Do you like money? (Don’t we all?) Would you like more money? Would you like your blogging efforts to literally pay off in more money in your pocket? Are you afraid you can’t monetize your blog since you don’t have enough blog followers?
This post will tell you that you can, and how you can because I know people who did.
Do you spend so much time on your blog that it might as well be a second job for you?
Now it can be because you can get ads on your blog even without enough blog followers. How many is enough? A thousand followers? A thousand page views?
I’m here to tell you that none of that matters. What matters is how many people have the potential to see your blog. That is what advertisers want to see–how many eyes are on your blog.
This is a question of simple math. Let’s try it, shall we?
Blog Followers
I found out that the Liebster Award is an award given to small blogs. The blogs are considered “small” since they have 200 or fewer followers. Let’s assume a hypothetical blogger has 200 followers. (I am happy to say that thanks to the loyal support of my subscribers, I no longer qualify for the Liebster Award.)
Triberr
In a recent post, How You Can Increase Your Blog Traffic Using Triberr, I explained that the “eyes of my blog” through Triberr equaled 729,000 people. I was wrong. I now have 736,000 eyes on my blog.
Twitter
According to Tribber, which is used in conjunction with Twitter, I have 2,176 eyes on my blog since I have 2,176 Twitter followers, and I post my blog links on Twitter.
Google Plus
Latest count: I have 220 Google Plus followers. I also post my blog links in all their communities, too. One of the communities where I post my links has over 23,000 members, but for the sake of making my point in this post, we will use a lowball figure of 220 eyes on my blog from Google Plus.
203 followers and counting– I even got a Pinterest follower while typing this post!. (It’s a new passion of mine.)
764 Facebook friends. (Is that a lot or a little? I hope I don’t look unpopular now.)
Tumblr, Flickr, Instagram
Hey, I’m new to all three, so… let’s round up and say 10 combined.
If these numbers all belonged to me, the grand total of all the eyes on my blog would equal 739,573 people. That’s 74% of a million. Almost three-fourths of a million people would be looking at my blog. For me, it’s actually more than that due to the fact that I have more than 200 blog followers, and the total of all the Google Plus Communities that I have joined and post my blog in.
Let’s review my original question: How many is enough to make extra money from your blog? One of my friends that was able to get blog monetization had a million eyes on her blog. I’m not too far off. When I get the number of eyes on my blog up to one million, I will be able to try to start blogging for money. If you do the math, so can you.
Sharing is caring. If you know bloggers who would find this post encouraging, please share.
Readers, I’d love to hear from you. Have you been able to make extra money from your blog? What reason or reasons would you cite that you were able to? I look forward to your comments.
