Congratulations Blog Party: 1,500 Posts

By: | April 17, 2020 |

Welcome to My Congratulations Party!

My best blogging friend advised me long ago that when you hit a blogging milestone, you should celebrate.

As you see from the screenshot, I recently published my 1,500th post. Let’s celebrate!

Blogger Meet and Greet

At today’s blog party we are eating cake.

In the comments section, you are encouraged to self-promote.

Introduce your blog to the other guests at the party. Tell the readers about your blog and post a link to your favorite post, a recent post, your About page, your blog link, or anything you like.

If you are not already following Mostly Blogging, I like new followers too.

Note: At other blog parties, guests return and leave different links to articles in different comment boxes. You are welcome to return as often as you like and leave links.

I am hoping others will be able to find new blogs to read and new bloggers to connect with.

Guests, if you think others would enjoy the networking opportunities at our blog party, please share on your blogs and social media. The more guests at the party, the more networking opportunities for all of us.

What can I bring to the party? Two posts:

First, the pandemic news from Britain, answering (at long last and among other things) the question, “Where’d all the flour go?”

And second, a survey of some of the stranger search engine questions that lead people to my blog–along, of course, with the definitive answers.

Stay safe out there, people. No one knows who’ll get a light case of the virus and who’ll get hit hard.

      Hi Ellen,
Thanks for the ominous but important warning about the Coronavirus.
Great to see you. Someone else here at this party discussed the flour shortage in your area.
      You stay safe too!

Wow. I just started the end of last month and things seem to be going nowhere. I know I’m just too early to see results because my blog is new but I hope to get to where you are now! It’s really a motivation to keep me going 🙂 Thanks for sharing!

Congratualtions what a milestone for you and thanks for making your site available to post on.
I have been a food blogger for 10 years. Recently I have been in the process of revamping my recipes to better fit the times of shortages and availability of pantry and refrigerator staples.
Our area has ben hit with a shortage of flour and yeast. I love to bake so this does put a crimp in my style forcing a bit more creativity n recipe choices .

It’s all about my recovery not only from slobbery, but alcoholism, and various physical, and mental challenges. One of which is bi-polar.
Come see what I’m up to now!

      Hi BBFFM,
Thanks so much for coming to my party! It’s been amazing going through these 5.5 years with you as my BBFF!
I’m glad you noticed you were mentioned here. I wouldn’t have even thought to celebrate this milestone if you hadn’t told me celebrating blogging milestones was a good idea years ago.
You coming to my 1500 posts celebration is so fitting– puts the icing on the cake so to speak =). Okay, I’ll leave the humor to you.

      Hi Nicole!
      Great to see you!
      In answer to your question:
      1. Yes, all 1500 are up and running. I thought of taking down the news posts I used to publish, but I see sometimes, they still get traffic. I thought of taking down the Bloggers Pit Stop linky party posts. I’m no longer affiliated with Blogger’s Pit Stop. Yet, people linked to the linky parties when they shared them on their blog so my Google Rankings could actually drop if I remove them. All 1500 are staying put. Even my old relationship posts and dog posts still get traffic sometimes.
      2. You mentioned your posts can’t be updated and they are no longer relevant. You should update the posts with old information so they are relevant again in Google’s eyes. For example, I linked to StumbleUpon many times before the site folded. Now that the site folded, the links would be dead. I remove the links and write UPDATE: StumbleUpon folded. The word update tells Google I have fresh information. You might even add 2020 Update in your meta description or headline.
