Blogger Meet and Greet: Valentine’s Day Party

By: | February 11, 2017 | Tags: , , |

Welcome to Our Valentines Day Party!

This coming week, Valentine’s Day is celebrated in many countries around the world. Although the forms of celebration and the date may vary depending on your country, February is usually considered the month of love.

Love can take many forms. For example, we love our blogging community, so let’s celebrate!

At today’s Meet and Greet, we are having cake.

In the comments section, you are encouraged to self-promote.

Introduce your blog to the other guests at the party. Tell the readers about your blog, and post a link to your favorite post, a recent post, your About page, your blog link, or anything you like.

If you are not already following Mostly Blogging, I like new subscribers too.

Note: At other Meet and Greets, guests return and leave different links to articles in different comment boxes. You are welcome to return as often as you like and leave links.

I am hoping others will be able to find new blogs to read and new bloggers to connect with.

Guests, if you think others would enjoy the networking opportunities at our Groundhog Day Meet and Greet, please share on your social media. The more guests at the party, the more networking opportunities for all of us.

If you get a chance to promote the link to this party on your site, that would also be much appreciated since it would help make others aware of this blog party.

Valentine’s Day Meet and Greet

I live in Hackney, known for its amazing street art. This is up there though… Amazing!!!

      • Maja Asgautsen

I think it’s very good too! We saw a lot of great street art when we visited Hackney a few years ago. I really enjoyed it.

    • Janice Wald

      Hi Maja,
We don’t have too much street art where I live. Sometimes, they’ll be fairs where there are sidewalk chalk sketches, but I haven’t been to one of those in a long time.
Thanks for sharing with us. I hope you are well too. Thanks for coming to my party.
      Janice

      • Maja Asgautsen

I have really enjoyed the party so far, and now I’m back to find more great blog posts.

      • Bridget

Hi Rasma – I am so sorry for posting from my blog whilst commenting on yours. I’m not sure how that happened!
Still think your poem was lovely though!

    • Janice Wald

      Hi Rasma,
Thanks for coming to my party. I see you and Bridget made a connection– exciting!
      Janice

    • Janice Wald

      Hi Kevin,
Thanks for coming to my blog party. I hope you were able to have some virtual cake while you were here =). Happy Valentine’s Day to you.
      Janice

    • Janice Wald

      Hi Kat,
I’ve been to your blog and seen the clutch. It definitely fits the mood of Valentine’s Day. Thanks for coming to my party and telling us about it.
      Janice

    • Janice Wald

      Hi Aini,
Nice to meet you. Thanks for bringing your Valentine’s recipe to my Valentine-themed party!
      Janice

    • Janice Wald

      Hi Rena,
I didn’t know you were a tech V.A. I didn’t even know you were a V.A.! I’m learning more about you today. Thanks for coming to my party.
      Janice

      • Rena

I had no idea that you posted a glossary too! What are the odds. I can’t believe you didn’t know I was a Tech V.A. I’ve been doing it a couple of years now! I focus most of my posts on WordPress since that’s my specialty but I work with a lot of programs as well. Gotta stay busy!

    • Antionette Blake

This is a great list and if I were a newbie Blogger I would head for the hills. It’s amazing that we have to know so much as Bloggers and it’s never easy and changes are constant.

      • Janice Wald

        Hi Antionette,
As I told Rena, I also published a blogging glossary this week. I was hoping to help new bloggers. However, you are right. All these terms can be overwhelming and scare them away! Thanks for offering a different perspective I hadn’t thought of.
        Janice

        • Rena

Hi, Antionette! I stopped by your site and I checked and we’re already following each other. I thought we were. Anyway, I tried to leave a comment but it would let me. Just wanted to give you a heads up.

    • Janice Wald

      Hi Liz,
Thank you for your compliment on my idea. Welcome to my party and happy Valentine’s Day to you too!
      Janice

    • Janice Wald

      Hi Everyone,
Laura’s sense of humor is very funny. As soon as you get to her blog, you just lose your filter and enjoy! Laura, thanks for coming to my Valentine’s Party. Happy Valentine’s Day to you.

Already approaching another Hallmark day…tempus fugit, as the title of my latest blog post says. One year into blogging type of post. Seems like I’ve known some bloggers, including you Janice, for much longer. A sign of good friends and natural connections.

Thanks for hosting another meet and greet and know this friends in waiting…dare to like, comment or follow and I will follow you back ?

    • Janice Wald

      Hi Gary,
I just came from your blog. What does Temus Fugit mean? I heard it in the Music Man but I don’t remember what it means.
I agree with what you wrote, and it didn’t even make me blush– I consider you a good friend too. Natural, like we’ve known each other a long time. I found at at your site we both like King. My favorite was his Pet Cemetery. Did you read it?
Thanks for coming to my party.
      Janice

  2. Bridget

Hello Janice and any reader passing by 🙂

Thank you for this opportunity to Meet & Greet – it’s my first. What a wonderful thing to be part of.
I only launched my blog last month, although been privately doing it for a bit longer. It’s quite nerve-wracking putting yourself and opinions out there, but I’m enjoying it and getting to engage with other bloggers.

I hope you enjoy my post – “La La Loved it.” As a newbie, I’m happy to receive any constructive comments, likes and/or follows. I will follow you back too.

    • Janice Wald

      Hi Bridget,
Congratulations on starting your blog recently. Thank you for coming to my party and welcome to my blog!
      Janice

    • Barbara Radisavljevic

I enjoyed your review, but the light font made it hard for my old eyes to read. You might consider using a darker font.

    • Janice Wald

      Hi Ellen,
I saw you around the blogosphere today as I party hopped. I heard the British were rioting because the Prime Minister is breaking bread with our new president. Well… you know my politics. Are they still rioting in the streets there? I like using you as my British news fix.
      Janice

      • Ellen Hawley

I haven’t read about any rioting, and since I live way out in the quiet tip of Britian–well, we don’t have enough people in the village to organize a decent riot. Very sad, but there you have it. The Speaker of the House of Commons has said he’d refuse to invite Voldemort to address the Commons, causing an uproar, although they don’t seem to have rioted. Apparently, if he visits the plans are to shuffle him off someplace where it won’t be obvious that an invitation hasn’t been issued. And to keep him out of London as much as possible, because if there won’t be riots there will be demonstrations.

Maybe they’ll have him address to Lords on the theory that they’ll all be asleep anyway. (That may be 1000% inaccurate, not to mention unfair, but I like the image so I’ll leave it in.)

        • Janice Wald

          Ellen,
Voldemort! Too funny, LOL! I heard he wasn’t going to be allowed to address Parliament. Thanks for being my London news correspondent!
          Janice

        • Janice Wald

          Hi Ellen,
Look at us discussing politics just like people do at a real party. I’m happy about your connection with Rena.
          Janice

          • Ellen Hawley

And once again, thanks for making that connection possible.

        • Bree

Thank you for your perspective on recent events in UK.
You have the sympathy of 99% of the world. Our prayers and love will be with you.
          ALOHA!
Full definition of this word is under entry on Bree’s blog, a new one ; ALOHA BREELOHA…”on her blog,
          http://www.wusuppups.com
We will continue to support peace and love in your corner of the world. ❤️✌?️

    • Rena

Hi, Ellen loved your take on things! I was going to subscribe but I didn’t see a subscribe button anywhere. I bookmarked it. Can’t wait to check out some of your other posts.

      • Janice Wald

        Hi Rena,
Happy to hear about your connection with Ellen. Did she have a “Follow” button? I think she is on WP.com, so she might have a “Follow” button.
        Janice

      • Ellen Hawley

Hi Rena, Thanks for wanting to subscribe. The Follow button’s on the right, an inch or two below the photo.

    • Janice Wald

      Hi Antionette,
I love people who love meeting new people at social media parties. =)
Seriously, I do too. I went to another blog party myself today.
      Janice

      • Rena

This has been so much fun for me! I’ve found two new bloggers that I just love! Thank you so much for doing this Janice! I subscribed to your blog. I sometimes drop off the hemisphere in blogging because of my other work and taking care of my mom. I don’t get around as much as I’d like to!

        • Janice Wald

          Hi Rena,
Thank you so much for following! I saw the notification yesterday.
I am glad you had fun at my Valentine’s Day blog party. We do these networking events several times a month.
People should have fun at a party! Thanks for writing to tell me.
          Janice

    • Janice Wald

      Hi Antionette,
I went to your blog to read “Knock, Knock, Let’s Network,” but it didn’t load. I saw an award at the top of the screen. Congratulations!
      Janice

    • Kat

Hi Antionette, your first link is not working, but the second ‘Knock knock ‘ is working well 🙂
I see you also have a blog with wix 🙂
(p.s. how do you add a heart to like underneath your blog post? I don’t seem to find that 🙂 )

      Congrat’s with your award!

  3. Bethanykays

Thanks for the invite!!!! I really want that cake in the most intense kind of way!!! No sugar for the last 9 weeks and I still want cake!!!

    • Janice Wald

      Hi Bethany,
Thanks for joining us. I’m glad the cake looks good. Six people pinned it!
9 weeks without sugar is quite an accomplishment! That’s what is great for me about virtual cake– no calories! Thanks again for coming to my party and happy Valentine’s Day.
      Janice

    • Janice Wald

      Hi Betty,
If I’m correct this is the first blog party I’ve had that you’ve been to. So great seeing you here! I went to a conference once where they discussed a vision board, and I even blogged about its importance for bloggers. Thanks again for coming by and happy Valentine’s Day to you.
      Janice

    • Janice Wald

      Hi Sarah!
My new blog reader! Welcome! We have these parties several times a month. It’s always my pleasure to host. Thanks for joining us and telling us about your post.

    Best wishes to all. 🙂

    • Janice Wald

      Hi Donna,
If I don’t like the movie on a first date, it’s an omen the relationship is doomed! I’m sort of kidding since I haven’t been on a date in a long time.
Everyone, Donna is hysterical. If you want a good laugh, and an entertaining time, check out her blog. Thanks for coming to my blog party.

Wow! That cake looks delicious. thanks for hosting this party. I finally finished a post I’ve been working over a month on. Most of that time I’ve been feeling under par and couldn’t work at my normal speed. This post comes from my blog, A California Life. I was born and raised in California and have lived here for 73 years. In this blog I share some of my favorite places and share lots of photos. In this post I take you to the Salinas River here in Paso Robles. I hope you enjoy the trip. http://acalifornialife.com/2017/02/12/salinas-river-paso-robles-photos/

    • Janice Wald

      Hi Barbara,
Did we discuss that I’m from California too? A month! My mega posts take about a week. Thanks for your compliments on the cake and for coming to my party. It’s always my pleasure to host.
      Janice

  8. Frank Prem

    Hi Janice,

Didn’t realise you were having a party – glad I could drop in for a look around.

Valentine’s Day, hey? I’ll look see what I have that might fit the theme, and pop it here: http://wp.me/p7yTr8-Bq (it’s a bit raucous, actually).

Hope everyone has a great day.

    Cheers,

    Frank

    • Janice Wald

      Hi Frank,
You are quite welcome. Come on in; the door is open!
I went and visited your blog. You had me at “raucous”. The bug on the finger is unusual, to say the least. It looks like your poem is a hit!
Great to see you here. Happy Valentine’s Day.
      Janice

  9. Christina

Thanks Janice for having this party. (Ps…I thought I followed your blog already but I think we followed each other on my prior blog A Kinder Way…I followed again today. 🙂 )

    • Janice Wald

      Hi Nikki,
First of all, welcome to my blog party! Thanks for joining us this Valentine’s weekend.
Second of all, I don’t seem to have any notice of you signing up for the blog, and I checked three places. Since you expressed interest, I took the liberty of signing you up.
I remember you at a Kinder Way. Why did you change blog names?
Last, thanks for clicking my link over at Danny’s site.
      Janice

  11. Ayushi

    Hi Janice,

I finally found my way to your Valentine’s blogging party and I hope the party is still on! 🙂
    Happy Valentine’s day in advance!
Well since the V day is almost around the corner and everybody seems to be talking about it, I thought it was the perfect time to write about love! So my latest post is about us as the confused Gen Y struggling with the flawed concepts of love and the constant battle between the head and the heart. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it!! 🙂

I hope you’ll follow me–I will have some big news in a little over a month! Happy Monday!

    • Sherina

Beautiful flowers!! Thank you for sharing. Even just seeing them online made me smile!

  13. Melinda

Hi my BBFFJ, you probably think I’ve fallen off the earth! Way too busy a week, and now I’ve had to cancel my home internet. So, blogging will have to be my first focus, and reading other blogs will be secondary.
I hope you had a great Valentine’s Day. My biggest and best Valentine turned 30. I’m too young to have a daughter that old! lol
    Your BBFFM

    • Janice Wald

      Hi BBFFM,
      1. I miss you!
      2. Cancelling your internet– how will you blog?
      3. Wayne and I went out. As far as the kids, we are empty nesters.
Thanks for coming to my party.
      Your BBFFJ

      • Melinda

I go to SF’s house. I have a key to his computer room. But yeah, it’s a pain!
I’m technically an empty nester too, but she keeps coming around ALL the time! lol
But, since that means I get to see my babies, I love it!

          • Melinda

Sweet Friend. He is my first ex husband, my girls’ dad.
