Groundhog Day Cake

Welcome to Our Groundhog Day Party!

Groundhog Day is celebrated in the United States and Canada this year on Thursday, February 2. That’s this week!

The traditional Groundhog Day is significant since it determines how much longer winter will last.

The two cultures have a legend about a groundhog. According to the legend, a groundhog will come out of his hole to look at his shadow.

If it is cloudy when he pokes his head out, then the spring season will arrive early. If it is sunny, the groundhog will supposedly see his shadow and retreat back into its hole, and winter weather will persist for six more weeks.

At today’s Meet and Greet, we are having cake.

In the comments section, you are encouraged to self-promote.

Introduce your blog to the other guests at the party. Tell the readers about your blog, and post a link to your favorite post, a recent post, your About page, your blog link, or anything you like.

If you are not already following Mostly Blogging, I like new subscribers too.

Note: At other Meet and Greets, guests return and leave different links to articles in different comment boxes. You are welcome to return as often as you like and leave links.

    Groundhog Day….had that all January and, unlike Bill Murray…or Petes Christmas come to think of it..all ve done is get a month older ? Still, soon be spring and hibernation can end. Blogging has had a break of late and is due to return in February. However I’m always checking things as I’m currently using my blog time to pop round blogs and say hello. I think that’s important sometimes rather than just chuck out posts and remain inside ones own world. That said, it’s not so easy to visit everyone I really want to…that would require 100 hour days!!

    I don’t want winter to end!! Have to avoid getting overheated (since when it happens have grand mal seizures) The added movement is nice, but can get hurt uncontrollably when it happens! Prefer getting my exercise my normal ways.

    I love the movie Groundhog Day, and we’re way overdue for another viewing! My blog, Delightful Repast, is about comfort food with flair and is coming up on its 7th blogiversary this month — 7 years of continuous weekly posts of original recipes and a bit about tea and wine and travel now and then.
