Blog Party: Meet and Greet #18

Blogger Meet and Greet #blogging

Welcome to our 18th Meet and Greet!

I don’t start by giving myself shoutouts often. (The idea for the last celebration was Melinda‘s, not mine.)

A website compiled a list, Top 100 Blogs to Read for First Time Bloggers, and my blog, MostlyBlogging, was included!

There I am sitting among the biggest names in blogging. I feel so honored! was rated as a top blog for new #bloggers

There I am alongside Jon Morrow, Ileane Smith, and Harsh Agrawal. Surreal!

I would like you all to celebrate with me.

In the comments section, you are encouraged to self-promote.

Introduce your blog to the other guests at the party. Tell the readers about your blog, and post a link to your favorite post, a recent post, your About page, your blog link, or anything you like.

If you are not already following Mostly Blogging, I like new subscribers too.

At today’s blog party, we are having cake. Enjoy the cake and the networking.

(Note: Many people ask where I get the cakes for our blog parties. I get them at Vons, a grocery store near me.)

I am hoping others will be able to find new blogs to read and new bloggers to connect with.

I will be holding these opportunities for bloggers to network twice a month.

Guests, if you think others would enjoy the networking opportunities at the Blogger Meet and Greet, please share on your social media.  The more guests at the party, the more networking opportunities for all of us.

If you get a chance to promote the link to this party on your site, that would also be much appreciated since it would help make others aware of this blog party.

    Hi there,
I’m an Irish women’s fiction author, living in Dublin, and I write a fortnightly blog ‘This Funny Irish Life’; a series of fun, tongue-in-cheek columns.
I’d definitely make sure there was a cup of Italian coffee with that gorgeous looking cake! And right now I’d simply sit on my patio door step, in the sun (yes, I said sun – we’re having amazing weather here!) and enjoy it.
Have a lovely weekend, fellow bloggers and writers,
    Sharon. xx

    • Ellen Hawley | at 12:20 pm

Sharon, I tried to leave a comment on your blog but the sign-in process was hard enough (lost passwords, etc.) to run me off. Is there any real need to have people sign in to comment?

  5. John Doe | at 6:26 am

I am so proud of you and you deserve all the accolades that you get. If a year ago someone were to tell you that you would be included in the list with John Morrow and some of those other people you would’ve thought it totally lost their minds. As expression goes, you’ve come a long way baby. Congratulations, you are the blogging guru .

  6. Mel | at 7:05 am

What a neat idea! I found you through the #sitsblogging Twitter party. My name is Mel and I blog about personal finance and working in the arts. On Saturdays, I host a blogging link up for anything related to personal finance/thrifty living and we love it when new folks join the party, so if any of you have a post you want to add, we’d love to read it! I also love cake!

    • Janice Wald | at 10:12 am

      Hi Mel,
Thank you for coming to my blog party. Thank you for telling me how you met me. I always wonder. Twitter isn’t part of my referral traffic in my dashboard today, but until I woke up this morning, Twitter was the only place I’d promoted this party. Do you know why Twitter wouldn’t be listed on my referral traffic since you clicked my link there? I try so hard to understand my stats.
What an interesting idea you have for a linky party– related to finance! I host two– one on Monday for inspiring posts, but everyone leaves links, mostly recipes. On Friday, I host a linky too, no specific theme.
Thanks for coming and telling us about it. I agree with Melinda. Don’t you want to return and leave a link to a post you wrote?

Good morning everyone!! Congrats to you Janice, how exciting!! Thanks for the cake 😉

My name is Breeze, I am a mom to three little girls and I live in beautiful East Texas. I love to travel but once I had kids everyone told me I would have to give it up. I’m out to prove, with my blog, that the idea that you can’t travel once you have kids is a MYTH! I love traveling with my family and I share our experiences along with tips on how other families can do it. I also write about parenting because it’s my passion, I love being a mom!

It’s nice to meet everyone, I look forward to visiting your blogs and getting to know you!

What kind words. You are getting me all choked up! You are too funny–not the top 100, the top 10! It’s true. We do have mutual friends now because of these parties. Thank you for YOUR support at the end of these wonderful comments. By the way, not cheating at all. Thanks for leaving your link. BBFFJ

  12. Rica | at 9:32 am

Congrats, Janice! ?? Virtual high five! I’m bringing a bottle of red wine, a bag of chocolate-covered almonds and a yoga mat to this soirée. All of those things represent me– a Yoga Mat Monkey. I blog about life as such, and use occasional profanity and humor to make the journey more fun. I aim to inspire my audience and just have a blast connecting with people. Here’s a recent post. Feel free to leave a comment and I’ll follow you back to your site:

    • Janice Wald | at 9:41 am

      Hi Rica,
Thank you so much for coming to my blog party! What wonderful treats you are bringing! How did you know I prefer red to white? Chocolate covered almonds, one of my favorites. Have you ever tried chocolate covered cashews? So good! A yoga mat? Absolutely! Make yourself at home. You sound like you have a great personality Rica and should get many visitors. Thanks for coming to the party!

  13. Gary Jefferies | at 11:36 am

Congratulations Janice, seems when I refer to you as a top blogger we now have provenance to go with it ?

I rather think I missed the last one of these…not very mindful of me given my posts on that very subject in the Kindfulness Challenge I’m currently working through ? Or…maybe I was mindful in other places…although maybe suggests amnesia and no mind at all ?

Hmm, best not to dwell on that and chalk it down to truancy instead. I digress…again…but now mindful is restored I shall, post haste direct anyone who feels the need to pay my humble abode a visit to the very posts on kindness…lest, like Melinda, others, of fictional orientation, require her ? rating lest the content disturbs sleep. I guess that reveals I’m primarily a writer of sorts…some even appear to like it…which is an ultimate kindness…how circular is that…oh yes…the link…

Be warned…a like, comment or follows and I shall come find you ?

      • Gary Jefferies | at 12:20 pm

No problem at all Janice ?

I have found quite a few blogs from here yes, but been slack recently…mojo un-mojo’d as it were. Too many school runs and examinations with the Borg…no time to do things…terrible really.

        Still, almost the weekend again…somehow….

        Crazy crazy world ?

  14. Truly | at 12:31 pm

How very wonderful….much deserved and hard-won…congratulations, Janice!!!! 🙂 It is fantastic that your generosity and dedication is being validated and recongnized on such a grand scale. Also, thanks for ongoing opportunities to introduce myself….
My name is Truly and, I’m a social worker–employed as a (child and youth) mental health clinician. My blog consists of creative writings that are riddled with wordplay, philosophical observations, and clever musings, and (mostly) 80’s pop culture references…I think what makes my offerings so appealing (aside from the relatability associated with “growing pains” and successes) is how intellectual my mind-bending silliness is. Admittedly, this quality is not for everyone–but then again, what writing is? If you’d like, I would be so thrilled if you’d read my latest post (or any, really). It’s dated June 1/16, titled “Les Consider-ablers”…translation, “The People Pleasers”. You will find me at

Thanks again, Janice…you are wonderful and appreciated 🙂
