Blog Party: Blogger Meet and Greet

Welcome to Our Blog Party!

It’s time for our bi-monthly blog party.

At today’s party, we are having cake.

In the comments section, you are encouraged to self-promote.

Introduce your blog to the other guests at the party. Tell the readers about your blog, and post a link to your favorite post, a recent post, your About page, your blog link, or anything you like.

If you are not already following Mostly Blogging, I like new subscribers too.

Note: At other Meet and Greets, guests return and leave different links to articles in different comment boxes. You are welcome to return as often as you like and leave links.

I am hoping others will be able to find new blogs to read and new bloggers to connect with.

Enjoy the food and the networking.

Guests, if you think others would enjoy the networking opportunities at our Meet and Greet, please share on your blogs and social media. The more guests at the party, the more networking opportunities for all of us.

Wassup y’all. Right now, I’m still only book blogging with a bit of personal posts here and there and everywhere. I’m adding in fitness, basketball, and hair blogging soon, so if you’re interested, check my blog out.

Also, I’m trying to create a page that’ll help authors and bloggers recognize each other more, so feedback on my Bloggers and Authors Unite page would be appreciated.

Thank you so much for the invite, Janice! Thanks also for letting me know about this new blog site. I just signed up to follow.

Most of my blog posts are either short stories, reflections, and articles (about all types of things, but mostly mental health issues), with the occasional prose poem or longer story. My blog can be found at http://www.birdflight.blog

One of my most recent posts discusses how unfair hating really is. I originally wrote it to fight the stigma against mental illness, and also perhaps change attitudes about criminality to a degree. I recently added a bit more content to the post in light of the events in Charlottesville, Virginia and Barcelona and Cambrils, Spain. To some it might seem a controversial post. Though the focus is on criminality, I think the ideas could be applied to hating of all sorts, and of any type of people. It’s not necessarily meant to make people love everyone, but have some degree of mercy. This post can be found at https://birdflight.blog/2017/08/18/hating-is-not-fair-2/

Wow, this is actually the first time I have ever seen a blog party! Fantastic!
I started my blog two months ago and I am blogging about something unique – expired domains. When starting a new site, rather than registering a brand new domain, one can register one that was not renewed by the owner but deleted. You can find nice brandable domain names this way, such domains still have backlinks, and therefore the new owner doesn’t need to start from zero:
    https://yourexpireddomains.com/why-yourexpireddomains-com/
I use WordPress, but I am working on combining it with PrestaShop and I am going to research out such domains and sell them $10-$15 a piece. There are 100,000 domains registered daily, so this could be a workable monetization.

    • Janice Wald

      Hi Peter,
I agree with the merit of your plan. Sounds lucrative! Good luck with your endeavor! Thank you for coming to my blog party!
      Janice

Actually, this is perfect timing for me, Janice – so kind of you to do it. I don’t normally participate because I’m usually so behind on my email that I can’t get to it fast enough.

Today marks the launch of a new bit of serial fiction on my blog – a time travel epic called But World Enough and Time. I post the fiction every Friday (almost), but my blog covers a whole range of things I find interesting, including cooking, sewing and trying to save the planet.

In But World Enough and Time, sister and brother Robin and Dean Parker find Elizabeth abandoned in a castle along with some very high tech equipment. Robin discovers that part of the equipment is a time machine, so she and Dean to help Elizabeth back to her own time in Seventeenth Century England. But getting Elizabeth established isn’t as easy as Robin thought, what with another time traveler making trouble and Dean and Elizabeth falling for each other.

    • Janice Wald

      Hi Anne,
Great to see you! Thanks for coming to my blog party and telling us about your blog.
Good luck with your new endeavor. The time travel premise sounds intriguing. I also didn’t know you blogged about saving the world. Certainly, an important goal. Thanks again for joining us.
      Janice
