April Fools Trivia

Welcome to Our April Fools’ Party!

It is time for our bi-monthly blog party.

Wednesday was April 1st, April Fools’ Day, a day often associated with people playing funny jokes on each other.

While the current world situation with the Coronavirus is not at all funny, the day affords us some much-needed levity.

Amusement affords us some positivity, a break from our health concerns and our concerns about our loved ones.

April Fools Trivia

Here is some April Fools Trivia for you:

Do you know how April Fools’ Day started?

In the early 1700s, people from England started playing pranks on each other and April Fools’ Day became a tradition.

Other historians say the origin of April Fools’ Day dates back to the 1500s.

At today’s blog party we are eating eggs. Eggs are normally associated with Easter Egg Hunts that occur in April. I also thought these eggs looked silly and therefore appropriate for an April Fools party.

Another name for April Fools’ Day is All Fools’ Day (Source).

In the comments section, you are encouraged to self-promote.

Introduce your blog to the other guests at the party. Tell the readers about your blog, and post a link to your favorite post, a recent post, your About page, your blog link, or anything you like.

Do you know any April Fools trivia? If so, feel free to share that as well.

Note: At other blog parties, guests return and leave different links to articles in different comment boxes. You are welcome to return as often as you like and leave links.

I am hoping others will be able to find new blogs to read and new bloggers to connect with.

Guests, if you think others would enjoy the networking opportunities at our blog party, please share on your blogs and social media. The more guests at the party, the more networking opportunities for all of us.

Thanks for hosting and I hope that your family is safe and healthy. It is weird about April Fools Day becasue I learned in college that back in the middle ages, most of the court jesters were people who were disabled. People who were intellectually disables, those with cerebral palsy and other disablities. People in the castle made fun of them and they were the entertainment. They were only allowed outside the castle and into town one day a year (if they ventured out any other day, they would be promptly executed) and it was called the “Fools Day. So I haven’t celebrated it.

Anyway, I am over at http://www.csuhpat1.blogspot.com or Adventures in Weseland.

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and stays safe.

That’s interesting Patrick. Let’s discuss the history. Weren’t they musicians? Minstrels? Didn’t they play the lyre, etc.?
I usually dread it since I don’t like my students playing pranks on me. However, this year school is closed due to the Coronavirus. Is your school closed as well?
Thanks for coming to my party. You have a good weekend and stay safe too.
