How to Make Money On Pinterest
Are you an affiliate?
I will show you a trick to increase your affiliate sales on Pinterest.
People are busy, right?
I’m going to show you a trick that will save people a step. If it’s quicker for them to buy, they are more likely to buy.
Look:
Let’s use me as an example.
I am an affiliate of KWFinder and other companies.
Many bloggers write positive reviews of a product they believe in and then they include their affiliate link (after including a disclaimer that the post contains affiliate links.)
I include a graphic with my review as I do all my blog posts. I make sure the dimensions are perfect so after publication, I can send the pin to Pinterest to advertise my post.
The problem:
When interested potential customers over at Pinterest see my pin and click on it, the link attached to the graphic takes them to my article. From there, people have to read the article where I hope they’ll click on my affiliate link.
This social media monetization trick saves them a step.
Look:
I am going to edit the link in my pin in my How to Use KWFinder review so it leads directly to KWFinder where I will get paid affiliate income if people sign up with my link. Otherwise, the pin at Pinterest will take them to my post.
Let’s save them a step.

When you click on your graphic, a pencil appears. Click it so you can edit your graphic.

When you click “Link to,” a dropdown menu will appear. Click “Custom Link.”
Copy your affiliate link and then paste it where directed.

Make sure you click Save.

Apps Like Pinterest: FAQ
Is there an alternative to Pinterest?
Yes! Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram are all apps like Pinterest.
What kind of site is Pinterest?
Pinterest is a social media site that is also a content curation site. Pinners post content-related images on virtual bulletin boards. Those images then contain links to the content.
What are the alternatives to Tumblr?
Pinterest and Instagram are similar to Tumblr. They are all social media sites where you can chat and promote but they don’t have groups around a common theme like Facebook.
What apps are like Instagram?
Pinterest, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter are like Instagram. They are all social media sites with the ability to chat and the potential to make money.
How to Make Money on Facebook
Many people use Facebook ads to monetize.
People also use live and recorded Facebook video ads to monetize.
For example, you can make a video using Facebook Live and promote your products.
Blogger Ryan Biddulph promotes many of his ebooks this way. He makes a video about the content of the book and holds the book in the video while he talks so viewers can see the cover. Pictures are engaging.
I’m thinking of turning my ebooks into paperbacks so I can hold them during promotional videos.
Here’s how to make a live video on Facebook:

Go to Facebook.com. Click on your profile picture. Click Live Video.
How to Monetize Your Facebook Page:
The beauty of having a Facebook page is you can promote whatever you want without seeming spammy.
Promote your offers, giveaways, optins, ebooks…
How to Make Money with Facebook Groups
Facebook groups offer you the ability to do anything, even make money.
Follow these tips and you can make money without looking like a spammer.
Mondays
On Mondays, Julie Christine Stoian’s group Living the Laptop Lifestyle has a #PromoMonday thread. Julie let you promote up to two links in the thread. Link to your ebooks for sale on Amazon or anything else you want to monetize.
Tuesdays
Raelyn Tan’s group Turbo Blogging and Business offers a #PromoTuesday thread. Like with Julie’s group, Raelyn lets you promote whatever you want.
Note: I use bitly links to promote my Amazon books since the Amazon link is so long.
How to Make Money on Twitter
Tweet your offer with a cool graphic. Many people accompany their offer with the hashtag #Promo.
Tweet your ebook link. As we get close to holidays, I used holiday-related hashtags to tweet that ebooks make a great gift. As I write this in late May, #FathersDayGift and #FathersDay2019 are already being used as tweets.
Pin your ebook link with a tweet to the top of your Twitter Profile. Although it’s not my most recently published ebook, my blogging tips ebook sits on the top of my Twitter profile.

It’s my “pinned tweet” since it’s pinned to the top of my profile. At the time of this writing, 320 people retweeted my book promotion for me getting me added exposure.
How to Make Money on LinkedIn
I have made money using LinkedIn. Here is how I did it.

This is my LinkedIn profile. Typing these words into the search bar could bring up my profile for people looking for a blogging tips coach.
Clients have told me they found me this way.
Also, testimonials from previously happy clients are valuable in generating more business. Make sure you get testimonials from happy clients and customers and place them on your LinkedIn profile.
How to Make Money on Instagram
Do you want to know how to monetize Instagram?
Instagram, like all these others, is a free app.
There are many ways to market your products and services on this popular site counting over one billion users.
Use live and recorded videos.
Many people use IGTV. They make live videos and promote your products and services. You can do the same in an Instagram Story in a recorded video. There are apps that let you divide your video so it’s longer than the Story maximum– 15 seconds.
You can also put a video in an Instagram post.
Many free and premium tools exist you can use to make Instagram video. For example, you can turn your Instasize video into a square shape for perfect posting on your Instagram feed.
Many people find an influencer and collaborate.
This will increase your exposure depending on the size of the influencer’s following.
On Saturday, the @IbrandYourBiz account lets you promote whatever you want to market. Favour, the account admin, calls Saturday “Market Day” since you can market whatever you want. Since Favour has 37,000 Instagram followers, that would greatly increase your exposure.
Use Instagram Story templates

To my delight, I sold books on Instagram without spending a penny on advertising.
Using this template from Unfold, I advertised two of my books by placing their cover graphics in the template.
I placed the template in my Instagram Story. With over 10,000 followers, you’re allowed a “Swipe Up” link. I linked to Amazon where people could buy my books. I included a GIF that read, “Swipe Up” as a Call to Action.
Sell Your Instagram Account:
You can also earn money on Instagram by selling your Instagram account.
If you check a site like Fame Swap, you’ll see some of the accounts are selling for thousands upon thousands of dollars.
